What Game(s) Did You Last Get and What Are You Playing?

Recommended Posts

I wonder if my dad would like Cities Skylines. I just built him a new PC, not sure if his g3258 with stock cooler would be able to play the game very well for very long.

I finally got Life is Strange (wanted to wait until all of the game was released, and then forgot about it). Really enjoying it so far. I've never played a game like this before.

Undertale...

Omfg guys...without a doubt it just became my second favorite game of all time. You owe it to yourself to pick it up WITH the soundtrack from steam. Totally worth it.

It does. At first I wasn't to impressed but my gawd tho...everything works so well together. Pick it up as soon as possible. Worth it. I played it on a friends steam and even though I've finished the game I'm going to buy it and the soundtrack. 12/10

EDIT: to give some context on UT

It reminds me of Bastion when it came out. For a freaking RPG maker type game it has a better story than destiny. It starts kinda slow but then draws you in (just like Bastion) the combat is fresh and amazing. The characters and so memorable and funny. The music sets the mood of every single area to a T. It started as a cool little game but ended as an obsession. Believe there are 3 different endings (only spoiler info) that makes the replay value so great for a RPG maker game. Get it. I assure you of you're any type of gamer you'll enjoy the hell out of this gem.

It looks absolutely brutal in terms of difficulty. My cousin made me get it for him after he saw a youtuber play it. I've actually played my share of bullet hell games and things like Super Meat Boy. But he still really young and he is doing pure mercy.

Thinking about picking up Oblivian...

I've been playing Fallout 3 as I never got to play the dlcs when I played it when it had just came out. All I know is it hasn't aged well compared to New Vegas. I've had a hard time getting over its myriad of technical flaws and worse mod support than NV.

I've never actually played Oblivion though all I know is its Gamebyro engine is older than Fallout 3's. Which really sucks and that a lot of people like it more than Skyrim for its stronger gameplay dynamics. If you're okay with less than stellar mod support and okayish graphics I'd imagine it's better than a relatively unmodded Skyrim. I'd recommend it.

Umm, I seriously doubt that Oblivion has a worse mod support than Skyrim.

It was THE game for modding. I don't know a single other game that has had that much talk about mods, specially at the time.

So I've noticed this thread's regulars all follow similar trends.

RPG is constantly dealing with psycho exes.

Muggi reminds us of the joys of polygamy.

Saq is totally oblivious to how much chicks dig him.

I strike out every other week.

Kalphite wages a war against the friend zone.

Randox pretty much stays rational.

Etc, etc

Better or not, you've still got about 10 years worth of mods to go through for Oblivion. I'm assuming that for most players, any differences in how good the mod support is will be negligible

Oblivion is very moddable it's just aged really. It's just lacking the console and scriptability Skyrim has and the obvious graphic quality.

But Skyrim is new and supposed to be better in a whole lot of aspects but so is Oblivion in other aspects. It factually has 50% more mods on the nexus than Oblivion let alone the steam workshop in a significantly shorter time. It doesn't mean it's a bad game it's just worse on that aspect not that it isn't more moddable than everything else.

Guild Wars 2 Heart of Thorns is my life now. It's so good.

Use the Nexus for modding Oblivion I think, same as Skyrim (it's mandatory for some people on Skyrim now. The workshop has been partially or totally broken for Skyrim since Steam went through that whole paid mods thing).

Almost forgot, but I picked up Age of Kings HD while it was on sale, so I'll be enjoying that later. Anyone else who was looking at that, it's 80% off for the next 8 hours still. I do hope the game is half as fantastic as I remember. Age of Kings and Star Trek Armada, those are the RTS games I really like. Wonder if I could get Armada working actually. The Star Trek vs Star Wars mod deserves to be played again...

Anyway, will be enjoying Age of Kings later.

On a side note, apparently right now the patch for the expansions is pretty broken. Some bugs like idle villager button not working and a lot of crashes. So maybe buy it now and wait for fixes before trying it out :P

Will be getting fallout 4 with the pip boy within the next couple hours. For the most part reviews were very positive. Lowest rating was a 75/100. Average is around 90/100. Cannot wait :3

Fallout 4 woot woot!

I got it yesterday, sank two hours in, only problems so far I've had are a couple of graphical glitches and [spoiler=Super minor early game spoiler]the fact that I've already got power armour, I don't dig it, I should work for this, not have it handed to me. But then again, I only just got it and if this plays out well, all will be well.

Other than that, I've been diggin' it hardcore.

So yeah fallout 4 of course. For the most part I'm very happy with the game. Only thing I miss is the leveling system with skills. Overall the game feels like skyrim (which is a very good thing). Running the game on max settings and other than some framrate drops inside the game runs very well. Only seen some minor bugs, nothing major (yet). All and all very very happy :)

Well, Guess I'll have to upgrade my graphics sooner than I thought... My dual 550ti SLI setup I transfered from my old to my new computer when I built it (to save on costs at the time, last spring), can't handle Fallout 4 at a decent fps. I'll have to wait to see the black friday sales on graphics cards to see what I pick. I had originally planned on getting a 980ti, but will likely be lower than that now since I can't wait as long as I wanted.

Yeah my 760 GTX can barely keep up. I wanna beef up the GPU...but I can't swing it right now :/

New thoughts on the game. Only issues I have now is sometimes after a hour or so the game will shutter to a halt. Once I restart the game it runs fine. Playing on medium to help the GPU out a little lol. Other than that the game is great.

Got Fallout 4 as well. Found this while browsing reddit.

That almost happened to me when I first attacked Outpost Zimonja (east of Sanctuary). The mini nuke went soaring past my head. Scared me ALMOST as much as when the deathclaw in that pit outside of Malden (I believe. There, or Lexington) started chasing me.

Coincidentally, I ran into Malden while trying to escape, and the deathclaw got distracted by some synths, so I managed to escape to the elementary school. And suddenly, there was a miniature nuclear explosion in the city, so I decided to check it out. Discovered the remains of the deathclaw (deadclaw hurr hurr), multiple Institute synths, and a suicide super mutant.

Unfinished netherrack symbol of Khorne.

Never forget. ~creeper face w/single tear~

DO YOU HEAR THE VOICES TOO?!?!

Since I've decided, at least for now, not to get Fallout 4 (it's too limited as a role playing game. The game is trying to tell me a story, rather than letting me tell/discover my own, and that's not what I'm looking for right now), I got the LSPDFR mod working for GTA 5 again on my computer (allows you to play as the police).

I'm glad to see that the whole thing where peds don't know that you're a cop until you interact with them is still not failing to result in hilarity/awesomeness. I don't have the screenshots because my game freaked out and went to windowed mode, but one of my top moments would be a routine traffic stop (suspected drunk driver) turning into a massive shootout. Best guess is I might have pulled over a gang member inside their territory (or was otherwise just inside gang territory). Really nice to be getting back into this mod. I miss some of the features from the GTA 4 version, but GTA 5 is stable enough to get in more than one or two calls (it's usually able to run at least a couple hours), and that's just soooo nice.

Anyone who has GTA 5 should check the mod out. It's a lot of fun, and there are a lot of companion mods that add extra features, or more calls. It's not polished yet, the main mod is still very much being worked on, but it's getting to a really enjoyable state where there is a good feature set, and a lot of the really good mods are all on the same version of rage hook (which allows lspdfr and the other mods to run). Just DO NOT enter multiplayer with mods installed. You will be banned.
