Central_Keeper
Not sure if this is in right section, if its not, thanks to mod that move it to the right section. Just today, one of my friend in my friend list ask me who I am, so I thought he must pm the wrong guy. Then later on, he just told me bluntly that he is a hacker and is currently hacker my friend's account. At first, I didnt' really know what to do, so I thought he might be joking, and I asked him that why would he told me that if thats what he is really doing. Then just to make sure, i told him to stop joking around and ask him how the training is going, then he goes, dude, I am hacking this account now. Right after he said that, I just report him under rule 6 (not sure which one I should, but this one seems abit closer), then I just delete him and put him on ignore list for now. Is that what we are suppose to do? Or we simply just delete them and put them on ignore and let Jagex and the account owner sort it out? a happy Runescaper
Eyebeam
ON the rs forums, i believe that there is a sticky called "i need a mod". Post there and the mod will stop freeze the account i think. Then they will do an investigation and erm i think the orginal owner should answer his recovery questions. Im not too sure but ya .. #3325 to 99 Smithing #4332 to 99 Herblore
Central_Keeper
Hmm, the problem is, I am F2P, so I don't think I can post any msg on RS forum, I can only view them. I noticed some similar thread on Tip It forum too, but it seems the general response is to report them under rule 3, or simply delete and let Jagex handle it. a happy Runescaper
Eyebeam
yea, im f2p too, just ask your p2p friends to do it for you. If you dont have any p2p friends, just go to tip it's cc and ask one of them to do it for ya :D #3325 to 99 Smithing #4332 to 99 Herblore

The I Need a Mod is not for asking for a mod. Fmods are not jagex mods and they don't handle account issues. What you did seems to be perfectly alright. :)
tintin113
It's pretty difficult to report a hacker without either acheiving nothing or getting the hacked person's account banned too. :? Jagex really need to have more info on their report forms than just a name and a few options to chose from. It's impossible to categorize every possible rule-breakage under just 13 headings. Thanks to Quarra for the awesome sig!Xbox360 Gamertag = Tintin113
Mylez
You did the right thing. Although reporting for most things (within reason) are acceptable, as it gets the player noticed. Jagex will then review the account and lock it, based upon IP changes etc. The owner of the account should have no trouble getting it un-locked, and the hacker fails :) BTW, there's a thread for this kind of question - opened by Mod Poppy on the RSOF, any more question regarding reporting, I suggest you head there : ~edit, as you said you're F2P, but there's an FAQ and many similar posts such as yours, you'll get an idea of what to do next time. Central_Keeper
Yeah, thats actually the first place I went to, the reporting academy, however, its being somewhat vague, and I couldn't find anything thats helpful in my situition. a happy Runescaper
