New Quest XP reward -- don't read if you don't want to know.

I haven't seen any significant discussion of this yet, and think it warrants separate discussion. Usually when I get to choose a skill for an xp reward, I don't think much about it. I throw it on something like construction or runecrafting, whatever I feel like at that time. But this requires some thought. This much XP at one time on a skill of choice could be a game changer. And the analysis can be pretty complicated. Of course, we have to think about which skill or skills to boost, but there's more to the analysis than that. Do we put it all on one skill, or spread it out? (Does it let you put it all on one?) And we must keep in mind that, if we put it on our lower skills, it can affect the way TOG works going forward. After all, that much xp on a lower skill could keep that skill out of TOG territory for quite some time. Does it make more sense to dump this xp on skills that we hate to train? Skills that are expensive to train? Skills that are just plain hard to train? Is there some skill or skills for which this kind of xp lump could allow a normal player to reach a particularly crucial level? I think this could be a very rich discussion!

[sarcasm]put it all on cooking, firemaking, or fletching!!![/sarcasm]

but seriously, it's all about what you want. Put it all on that lv 1 skill you've been putting off and shoot up to level 60ish, or you can put it on prayer and save youself a headache and a half.

when you put it all down, it's approximately 1/25th of a 99. What you put it on is all about what you want to excell at. I would put it all on attack, but i'm a f2p noob and the xp from the halloween quest was awsome, and it was less than 1% what is offered now.

Xp is win. I think that's the answer i'm looking for.

All mine is going to RC when I do the quest :P

Runecrafting is tempting since it is such a HUGE PAIN to train. On the other hand, runecrafting, unlike some other skills, actually has a little payoff as you train it up. That's a tough tradeoff to decide -- pain v. money.

I know mine will go towards Runecrafting because I hate training that skill so much and I want all my ToG weekly xp to go towards Hunter (because I also hate that skill too), but Hunter is waaaaay faster xp normally.

I'd say put it towards a skill that is very slow (HP, slayer, RC)

Nah definitely not slayer or HP. When you train slayer, you are slowly training 3 to 6 different skills at a time.

Slayer+HP+Range

Slayer+HP+Magic

Slayer+HP+One melee stat, or all 3 if controlled whip

Plus a little bit of summoning if you use Bunyip/Tortoise or whatever.

RC is ftl as far as xp goes and it would be stupid to put 400k xp towards hp or slayer

I would use

100k on Agility (I hate agility)

200k on Prayer (mind numbing skill)

100k on Construction or Runecrafting

I would go for expensive or slow to train.

Many come to mind, but rcing, herby, con, smithing all tickle my fancy.

Agility, and slayer would also be close.

I would tend to go for my lower skills, to boost the levels gained. If I plonked em all on slayer, it would be 1 level at most, but rcing would net me 14 precious levels.

Summoning or Prayer. But that's a moot point since I only just finished Desert Treasure today and have eleven more to do.

If the CORPORAL beast is this hard, imagine how hard a GENERAL or COLONEL beast would be. a corporal is not even an admirable rank in armies that use that ranking system.

Yeah, it is a pking minigame, so any arguments anybody makes will probably be biased.

The best way this will end :Everybody just says,"I'm not arguing with you anymore, goodbye."

The worst way this will end: I don't really know, psychological warfare? Worldwide thermonuclear war? Pie eating contest?

300k to Summoning (will get me 69 with enough charms for 70) and 100k to Farming which will get me 70 as well. Then I'll only need to hunt 2 more levels for all 70+ \' . I'll have that quest completed by friday, only the SUmmer quests left to do and I have all the requirements ;) .

Retired

2146 overall - 136 combat - 6 skillcapes

Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks.

I have a few considerations.

First consideration: One of the lower level skills I hate to train, like mining, agility, or runecrafting.

Second consideration: Prayer, it's only level 78 so I could get a good few levels and save a fair bit of money.

Third consideration: Summoning, I'm level 92 at the moment, and I want to get it as high as I can before I trim my HP cape.

Fourth consideration: Slayer, with this 400k exp, I might even be able to break a runemonkey record.

I used all of mine on runecrafting...I figured selling the dragon lump for 10.6m was payment enough 8-)

I'd personally use it all on either Prayer (400k Exp saves you a bunch), Runecrafting (I hate this skill) or Mining. 400k Mining is like, what? 8 hours of boring clicking? Atleast Runecrafting lets you run around.

I wouldn't bother spending it on any combat related skill (except Prayer) because I like training, it earns me experience, levels and money!

can you finish the quest get the dragon lump reward and keep the exp for later ? (it will be useful to save it for an year or two when a new skills come in (if it comes in) .. 400k exp is a day playing in most of the skills ... but for a lvl 1 skill it is 60+ ... a lot of time saving :P)

I think you are forced to choose the skill straight after the end.

I chose Runecrafting, Slayer, Summoning and Fishing.

Now I'm 90k away from making bloods, 399k away from 89 slayer, 50kish from 81 summoning (might respark me to do it some more) and a little bit closer to finally catching Sharks!

Mining, because 400k Exp = saving me ten hours of mind-numbing rock-banging.

(I SHOULD use it on Farming, as it's really expensive. Then again, you can get your own seeds, but... meh, saves one and a half to two days of hardcore Farming!)
