Joes_So_Cool
Hey, sorry if there is a topic like this already but I just recently got into.. "reading for fun". I really enjoyed the Alex Rider series. So, post the types of books you enjoy to read, or just say you don't like to read, do you read books, the New York Times? Your schools newspaper, etc? Please fill me in on some good books too. Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.
baalboy5
I only read, apprently, when its a school assignment. But for some reason the book will interst me and I'll read it to the end. Prob just b/c its a school assignment. I read The KiteRunner 1984. I reccomend both., even though 1984 banned XD Don't you know the first rule of MMO's? Anyone higher level than you has no life, and anyone lower than you is a noob. People in OT eat glass when they are bored.
Deiophobus
I like to read a lot. I read during my spare time, and usually at least for an hour before I go to bed. Often I re-read stuff though.
champion
For our language-arts class we're required to read from any book of our choice for at least half an hour a day (on top of other assignments). It's all a matter of finding books you like. Get recommendations online or from friends. I'm thankful my teacher has gotten me back into reading. Mylez
Animal Farm, very funny book. (George Orwell is amazing.) Skeleton key - of the Alex Rider books. The Da Vinci Code. Wormwood. The Harry Potter books! ^ My favourites ^
Returned3
To be honest, I only enjoy reading game guides. Other than that, my tiny attention span usually gets the better of me. 00:00:0500:00:0400:00:0300:00:0200:00:0100:00:00 Break the Walls down! Nom
Anyone who likes fantasy or fiction in general must read A Song of Ice and Fire by George RR Martin. Four books, fifth coming out sometime this decade hopefully. Best contemporary books I've ever read. I'm not kidding. Read them. Note: Adult fiction. No sheltered kiddies. I'm not kidding about that either.
BlackDawn
I've read and i also suggest these books. The Darren Shan series. The inheritence series (Eragon.) The Harry Potter series. That's why you're on the TZDF blackdawn. Even your balls can tear zombies to shreds.
Lenin64
Now I feel weird for not reading the big political classics like 1984. I really enjoy reading, it's something I do quite often. I'm a big fan of Clive Cussler's Dirk Pitt series. Right now I'm reading Eisenhorn by Dan Abnett. It's really good, just finished the 2nd book. Command the Murderous Chalices! Faux
I found 1984 really boring. Half of it was like reading an encyclopedia. Brave New World is better. :: Guess the Movie Contest Champion: pfilc23 ::
ThurinEthir
Lord...of...the...Rings? Typical response from me. :) I read more than the average person that I know, so I guess I would say I like to read. However, I used to love to read, now I would prefer playing video games but I still constantly read. Other than everything written by Tolkien, Ender's Game is probably one of my favorites. The other three in the series aren't as great, but still good, I suppose. Cenin pân nîd, istan pân nîd, dan nin ú-cenich, nin ú-istach.Ithil luin eria vi menel caran...Tîn dan delu. Baconxl
If I have a good book that I really like then I can finish it off in a couple nights. So generally I do like to read but reading for school and stuff just sucks. All they do is over-analyze great books and makes them torture to read. Ginger_Warrior
I'd like to say I read, but I don't. I've never found any meaning in reading (ooh rhyme). If I do read though, it's usually non-fiction. | Favourite Game Music | Last.fm | HYT Friend Chat Rules |
pryomancer
Michael Crichton was a great author, I've read Jurassic Park a few times, and Disclosure, that was brilliant. I've also read The Hobbit liike 4 times, it's a very good read. I remember having to read To Kill A Mockingbird for English at school over the holidays. At first I hated it  now though I recognise it obviously as one of the best novels ever written.
Joes_So_Cool
I highly recommend the Alex Rider series to everyone, it's sooo good, you won't be able to put it down, I used to hate reading, and only read when for school, if then.. Until I picked up the Alex Rider books, they're amazing. Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.
Dizzle229
Reading is awesome. I finished The Green Mile and am currently reading The Dark Half. Maulmachine
I love reading. I recommend Catch-22 it's an amazing book for the slightly older scene, it has been called one of the best litereary achievements of the 20th century. Catch-22 is only for the 16+ crowd, if you are younger then that you won't have a clue, if you are only moderately intelligent wait until your 18. jjrox32
I like to read, but for some reason I can never find any books that I truly get into. When I do get into a book though, I can't put it down (I finished Rainbow Six by Tom Clancy in under a week). Favorite series of all time is the first trilogy of Artemis Fowl books, I must have re-read them 10 times each, though the newer Fowl books are starting to suck. I re-read that a few weeks ago, and it's probably the funniest book I've ever read. It's not often that books are laugh out loud funny but still cutting and relevent satire.
