Firemaking, not a newb 99

Recommended Posts

ok so i have 99 fm and im sick of people saying its a newby 99. imo it is not. sure its straightforward and not that hard but it does take A LOT of patience and dedication because you cant do other things while fm bc you need to keep clicking the whole time. and yes i know its not that much money and stuff but still it is very hard, not hard in the sense of say 99 prayer or something but still hard in its own sense, whats your guys opinions?

EDIT:

Every skill in rs is just repetitive clicking so one could say all 99s are nooby bc all you do is click and it's repetitive. So is theonly thing that makes fm nooby the cost?

No skill should be considered newb.

Still Firemaking is one of the easier and cheaper skills to get to 99. You don't get profit from it as with fletching though.

I trained from somewhere in the 50's to 92 (for adze) in about 2-3 weeks. 92-94 with the help of the adze and 94-99 in 2 weeks. So it doesn't take very long, but longer than Hunter

It still needs a lot of dedication as you pointed out.

It's annoying, but still very cheap and fast. That combination makes it called a "newb" 99.

Hunter is faster and you gain profit with it. Shouldn't that be more "newb" then?

i thought we were talking about fm and not hunter cape?

beside's there can be 4+ newb cape's

And you did well spending 3+weeks getting a cape with the same stats as a quest cape. Or 6+weeks for getting a trimmed cape.

[reason why i don't have a single 99 is plainly because it costs too much time. Which i'd rather spend in doing something else.]

Well I had the Quest cape and the Woodcutting cape, so I decided to get a trimmed Woodcutting cape, by getting my Firemaking to 99. It's a shame that it isn't used in Stealing Creations and 99 firemaking has no real use too.

it is annoying as hell to try and wear my firemaking cape because everyone makes fun of me, even at 130 combat. I am sick and tired of people hating on me because i have this cape. You have to get this cape to max out right? and 99 firemaking was one of the hardest and most brutal 99's to get, even though i did use yews to get ti faster. I don't care what people say, i don't believe this is a noob cape.

The reason why people consider it a noob 99 is because they think that it is sorta like cooking, and fletching where you buy what you need and do one or two different thigns till 99. In fact firemaking is just that however it does take quite alot more focus, and you can't "AFK" train it, like watching TV while fletching. This is because you need to click every log with the tinderbox.

Not to mention I don't consider any 99s "nooby" since I have gotten 99 Fletching back before the "string X" option, so I had to click every bow and string to string em. Only AFK part was fletching the logs. But even so, the time and effort you spend makes any 99 skill highly valuable, and makes the cape you wear show your hard work and effort put into the skill.

Lol, really?

You know why I laugh with 99 firemakers.

Cause it's dead boring! Why would you bore the hell out of yourself to get a USELESS 99. On top of that, it's so fast and cheap xp, that it's really easily gotten, if you rule out the boredom. So you dont even get "respect" either. What's left? Wasted hours in the chase of a 99, which in the end, is a letdown. Might aswell go for a 99 you like, or that's useful.

And about people who laugh at your skill cape while they dont have 99s: They havent spent 100 boring hours firemaking. They > you. Also, I got 99 magic, ranged and hitpoints, and in fact, I wish I didnt grind for the last few lvls. I'm getting the xp anyway, and every xp past 99 feels like a bit of wasted grinding. So i'd rather not have 99s. (of course, that's afterwards. Before, you are excited cause you want to wear that shiny cape, yay).

Another person, who has an Untrimmed cape, and is complaining how everyone is calling it . Nope we don't see this rant often... -.-

Solution: Get a cape that people won't call you a noob for.

the trick is to balance all of these methods to get 99 and either play real life or train another skill while farming.

I'd rather quit than be forced to get 99 firemaking. Cause it's hard? No. Cause it's so freaking boring and useless.

Someone who has 99 firemaking is (mostly) someone who wants a skill cape so badly he does a skill he dislikes for 100 hours straight. I find that a bit pathetic. Skill capes arent the end of the world.

I think one of the main reasons that people "diss" the Firemaking Skillcape is that it has no practical use. In RuneScape Classic, Firemaking was much more important, because there were only a handful of cooking ranges in the game. But now, with ranges and everlasting fires (rogue's den) abound, Firemaking has little or no use. So, what many people (myself included) say, is that, why get 99 Firemaking if not for the cape? Firemaking has no use whatsoever after level 30, apart from the odd quest. I say this because Magic Log fires burn no longer than Normal Log fires. So, why did you get 99 Firemaking? Is it an "easy" 99 (compared to others)? People diss the Firemaking cape because the majority of people who have it (or, at least, wear it) got it just because of the fact that it was a cool cape.

If someone disagrees with this (which I know many will), please don't flame me. I'd like to keep this civilized.

Notice how all the people who call it a noob 99 DONT have it?

Personally I think firemaking is pointless, but I dont see myself ever getting 99 in it, atleast not anytime soon becauase its takes TOO much concentration. So in my opinion, even though the supplies are easy to get, the time it takes and the amount you have to put into it, makes it not nooby. It'd be like syaing killing stuff for 99 slayer is a nooby skill, because all you do is kill stuff...

Oh and just to point out some other stupid things about people and the capes.

People have said if it's so easy get your own. Umm... Being forced to fletch/fm/cook.. is boring as hell.. and who would want to do that?

#2. It isn't an achievement in my eyes because none of the idiots even LIKE fletching, FM, Cook. For the people who get them as their first capes, 99% are because they just want a skillcape, and they want the easiest one possible. So i don't feel bad when they get insulted for it, because most of them just wanted to look cool with their cape, not actually because they have a love for the skill.
