Itsjustagame
Yes, random events are good for the game. I'm not saying they should all be removed. I also know that Jagex is fixing and removing some of the randoms soon. This is basically a rant for what's happened in the PAST. So I like to train at aggressive monsters since they auto attack me, and I like to multitask to avoid boredom. Nothing wrong with that. But how the hell does Jagex expect me to answer the calls of the Sandwich Lady and The Mysterious Man Box!?!?! I was at Metal drags the other day doing an iron drag slayer task. It was very crowded, but I had controlled the area all the way in the back with 1-2 drags being mine with a few interruptions. I get a sandwich lady random while they are aggressive. No big deal, I'll just run north a bit and she'll go away. But what about when I'm IN combat. Later on I had just attacked an iron drag, and she appears. This is a problem. I cannot talk to her mid combat, and running north is an issue because I'm wasting prayer points during the process, or I risk the chance of being attacked by a different dragon. And if it's steel, I'm just wasting my time on my task. If I don't run, and I don't kill the dragon fast enough, she hits me over the head. Also, what if I'm at a spot where I CAN'T run away? I'm doomed. The mysterious man "mystery box." How I hate you at aggressive monsters. Same situation. I'm at iron drags, and they're aggressive. He gives me the box. 1 box turned to 2 boxes. 2 into 3. Before I knew it, I had accumulated 16 boxes in my inventory. While I do enjoy a puzzle, asking me "what shape has the number 3" and other variations 16 times in a row is VERY annoying. Simply put, I hope they remove these randoms from aggressive monsters. Stick to the click-and-get-reward randoms. Hell, I'll even deal with the teleport-me-away randoms, just as long as they don't screw me out of a drag legs drop again.
Poopingman
I agree. Happens to me all the time too. I get the randoms in the middle of a fight. Then Hyde starts [bleep]ing and moaning while I'm in combat, unable to get through his dialogue entirely. Metal fans, check out my band!Still the King.... Looce
I'll have to agree, and add another set of random events... When I train at ice giants -- or in members, fire giants; same thing --, and get a Leo the Grave Digger random event, a Prison Pete, a Mysterious Maze or a Mime, the NPCs I fought become aggressive. And since I dislike ice warriors due to them not dropping big bones -- their other drops are also not really worth it, rarely alchable --, I hate it when a random event makes them aggressive again, ruining my streak of ice giants. At fire giants, I would be ranging, and them becoming aggressive would complicate things when I pick up the drops or switch to another fire giant for combat. pureprayer
I was trying to tele from Red dragons and I got an event so my teleing was stopped and I almost died because the dragon got another hit on me. Pureprayer, you're awesome.
drunkenduck
i agree, i think jagex should try make it so you dont have to talk to a random event npc while in combat. also, when i go to green dragons in the chaos tunnels and i have a full inventory of hides/bones, i seem to get random events as i click my tp. is this just coincidence (its happened over 8 times now) or do i just have awful luck because more often than not its that stupid tag post game or the drill seargant
langer
I was maging steels a while ago for slayer and I had 3rd age ammy and mage hat equipped... Jekyll appeared and I couldn't talk to him because of the fire breath... I had emptied my prayer ealier so I had no option but to run... I lagged out and ended up in lumby without my 3rd age items... I was very pissed for a long time after that. How dare you. Jagex is incapable of making mistakes. Getting random events during a agressive monster battle monster battle is a fun addition to gameplay, especially when I have to wait for 10 minutes for them to be unagressive again so I can cheat and AFK.(and then preach about the immorality of RWTING :wall: ) I think getting 10 coins and having my time wasted in order to support a system that was completely inneffective at stopping RWT is the funnest thing in the history of the world. In fact, I play Runescape just so I can deal with random events. REPORTED FOR RWTING, DIRTBAG!!! And I thought I was unlucky when I lagged out twice in a row at steel dragons an died twice (first time 2M lost and 5h of charms, second time 300k lost and 4h of charms) (ofc, somehow, when I lagged they got agressive again, and somehow, the dragon was in melee range when it attacked me, and somehow... Darn murphey) A Guide to Chinning in Ape atoll: up to 325kxp/h!
langer
I was extremely lucky to have gotten those through the G.E. (weeks after its release) and only found out how much they were worth on the streets when I lost them. I have not combat-maged since then (called it RS-trauma!). I might buy them back once the randoms are fixed. bedman
I also get a hat and mage ammy in the GE :-) Traded hat later on for mage top (looks cool IMO) some i'm left with mage top and ammy, which I dont use TBH, those randoms... Anyway, I assume you didnt get back there in time either. (that feeling, when you lag out, and you wanna log in asap, and your computer freezes for 2 whole minutes, dont you just hate it!). And of course, no one blesses it either (probably cause it dissapears as soon as you dc). The last 4 times I died, the grave system never helped me lol (bork with fire cape, duo bandos (friend lagged out too), twice at steel drags). A Guide to Chinning in Ape atoll: up to 325kxp/h! langer
I am glad I was wearing a god cape at the time. Fire cape would have been a real pain to get back. Yeah when you DC, the grave dissapears. Since then, I got 13k chaos, 9k deaths and 6k bloods from slayer. I'll waste those on 99 magic when I buy back ammy and hat (95 atm). wurmskin
I agree, it does get a bit ridiculous in a few situations. I myself once got a Sandwich Lady while training range at Ape Atoll... Yeah, I bet you can guess what happened next -.- . ^ Refresh for a new signature ^
Dax
What about a right click option: 'Get reward now and shut the hell up so I can get back to my Iron Dragon'? I'd like that. ;) Well, at least it'd be better than the current situation. #KERR2016/17/18/19/20/21. #rpgformod

I haven't personally gotten a Sandwich Lady at Metals, however, I can see how horrible that can be.
