Hey, I'm currently f2p and would like to raise my mining. Where's the best spot and best method to do it?

Right now I'm just mining a full load of iron west of Varrock and dropping it after I'm full.

Is the exp for mining coal in the guild and banking it worse or is it worth the profit?

It is worse, but it's kinda good if you have the guild to yourself.

And if you have the smithing level, you should try some superheating mithril bars down there too. It's not great, but is a good way for F2P smithing.

Other than this, iron ore at the Al Kharid (crowded as hell) triangle..

Maybe mining silver in the crafting guild and dropping - i dont think anyone has tried this.

EDIT: Since you're F2P, mining coal is a good income anyway, so I suggest mining coal in the guild.

I dont need a siggy no moar.

Or if you don't mind getting the level so much as your just wanting cash, just mine LOTS of gold ore. It's easily obtainable at crafting guild. That is where I got most of my mining level from, and most of my cash too....

Can be crowded at times but isn't a bad idea, 483gp per ore is quite a good money maker.

I made the huge mistake of not banking a gold ore as I turned f2p. I banked every other useful item so I would be fine, but no gold :x .

D'oh! #-o

That would have been very good. Well I guess it's either coal at Guild or powermining iron for you.

instead of dropping after a full load of iron; get into a world of 1500+ and 2 rocks that you can click without moving(cicking the rock while moving causes you to mine slower) Mine both ores, then drop both ores. Similarly if you are in a smaller world under 1500 mine three ore then drop 3. This works best in alkarhid and rimington, less walking time.

Now when you do the mine 2 drop 2 or mine 3 drop 3, fill up your inventory so that there is an empty 2-3 vertical column, this way you do not have to move the mouse as much. This is due to when you click 'drop' your mouse is already over the next ore that will be dropped.

If you use mousekeys to drop your ore, than just continue doing that, as that is faster than the mine2d2, and m3d3 methods.

Well I'm in the guild now, and it's netting me a decent profit, but it's pretty slow.

I think I'm going to get a level here, powermine the next level, come back and do coal for a level, etc. Best of both worlds and it will be easier.

I'm very much aware; it's either gold for most money/least efficient, coal for middle, and iron for least money/most efficient.
