Mr_Adam
The Lord of the Rings. It fits well with the movie, so it's sort of weird to appreciate without, but that's sort of the point ;) Although, I think Star Wars will always win when it comes to popularity/memorability. indy500fan
The standards: Requiem for a Dream The Fountain Rushmore Some others I like: La Vite e Bella Dune (1984) 28 Days Later... 28 Weeks Later Sunshine Haven't got the soundtrack yet, but I liked the music during Slumdog Millionaire a lot. TV: Battlestar Galactica, each season has a part I like about it, probably like the miniseries soundtrack best though.
Lenticular_J
I liked Dune, The Lord of the Rings, and Star Wars. Strangely enough I have a lot of trouble noticing music during movies. Particularly if it's good. It just blends in so perfectly. catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream
ThurinEthir
Well...I think it's rather obvious what I'm going to say. Lord of the Rings. There. Return of the King's is by far the best, FotR second, and TTT is a bit lame. Until the Battle of the Hornburg. The great thing about Lord of the Rings is that there's no one theme. Every race, every location, many different people - They all have their own tune. Mix these tunes together, and you get these amazing pieces. My favorite tracks, in chronological order: Concerning Hobbits, The Breaking of the Fellowship, Isengard Unleashed, Hope and Memory, The Fields of the Pelennor, and The Black Gate Opens. (And if you were wondering, Howard Shore is my most played artist on Last.Fm. And that's not counting the TTT OST, which is listed under the London Philharmonic Orchestra & London Voices) Cenin pân nîd, istan pân nîd, dan nin ú-cenich, nin ú-istach.Ithil luin eria vi menel caran...Tîn dan delu. Sumpta
Black Cat, White Cat. Goran Bregovic's music just made that film great. Pitbull terrier (which is actually not by Bregovic, but sooo hilarious)! I love the Nyman/Greenaway combination. The soundtrack to The Cook, the Thief, his Wife and her Lover is brilliant. Without Greenaway, Nyman's music is a bit too sappy (The Piano e.g.). With Greenaway, there's a touch of lunacy that creates haunting music. I also like Craig Armstrong, who composed scores for, amongst others, several Luhrmann films. I'll see if I can add some youtube links later.
