History and Future of the RuneScape World Map

Only the places where the Stone of Jas resided contain pure/rune essence.

Yes, but according to Guthix in the god letters, the world had been primarily made of rune escence, which would give jagex the perfect way to create a new rune mine. :shame:

Where does it say this?

I haven't found any mention about that mumbo jumbo in the God Letters...

I will not taint this topic with a sailing comment.

However, I will say this:

New skill coming out.

Maaaaaybe said skill will also bring the eastern lands!@!

(unlikely, since it's both f2p and members, but...)

Ah, screw it.

Eastern lands... new skill coming out...

SAILING!@!@!@!@!!!@@!!!!11112222

... feel free to murder me now.

Balance may be power, but chaos is still pretty damn fun.

Canada can't be second rate, polar bears are their main mode of transportation.

MAYBE the new skill coming out has to do with the eastern lands. But sailing is just a facepalm idea. To demonstrate the major fail that is sailing, I will now take up more than a reasonable amount of space with a large image:

I'm very bad at remembering sources... -.-

I'm sure that Jagex however, will come up with some way to expand in this way. Even if there is no rune eccence/alters for the runecraft skill, there are few other skills native to Gleinor.

List of those that could exist outside:

Agility

Crafting

Fishing

Hunter

Ranging

Streagth

Attack

Defence

Fletching

Magic (with bought/taken from Gleinoor runes)

Summoning?

Construction (move your house to EL)

Farming

Herblore

Mining

Slayer

Theiving

Cooking

Firemaking

Hitpoints

Prayer

Smithing

Woodcutting

List of those that might not:

Runecraft

Considering runecraft to be the only skill that may not work in EL, i doubt that will void EL completely. :|

Isn't West of the frozen waste plateau "The North" of the mahjarrat quests?

If so, how can that place be just an icy tundra?! It's gonna be an epic place

Isn't there a "Cursed Arquipelago" south of Harmony island mentioned in pirate quests, where Rabid Jack was?

Might end up being an important place.

I also heard that a book about the Myreque quests mentions a city called "Darkmeyer" near Meyerditch, where the vampire lords live... idk if that's true, only saw that in the rs wikia :?

If it's true, Darkmeyer is the Morytania area

There's also a book titled "Journey to the Eastern Lands" or something of that effect. I found it in my PoH bookcase. I didn't take a closer look yet, but I thought I'd mention it.

The book you mean is called "Exploration of the Eastern Realm", and is written by an Elven scribe. Therefore, the eastern area they refer to is actually the kingdom of Kandarin.

Due to my epic stats, I have now started WGS (but I still hate spoilers).
