Seraphi
I am not entirely sure this is supposed to go here, but I think there is a lot to discuss about it. today, an alt code was found that causes the game to stop running and takes you to another jagex page. At the time of writing about ten worlds have been completely crashed and are now offline. I have also heard that Jagex has begun to hand out IP bans. If there is anyone that knows about Java and the runescape code, please tell what the cause of this is? by the way, word of advice-make sure you keep public chat off, as I have heard this can prevent it(you may also want to keep private off as well, in case of freinds playing jokes)
brunokiller
It is because the game cannot process a certain sequal of letters. Again, if you have your chat settings on a mode that does not allow you to read said words, you are SAFE. Don't use the code either. I have used it, and I regret it now. (sorry Olly  ) People are crashing pvp worlds now btw. My blog
Jimmyw3000
In short, an Alt code is causing servers to crash. I'd advise against doing this, as i dont want people to get banned tommorow. From what i've heard, it runs thought pm, clanchats, and public. I strongly advise people to stop pvping and being in dangerous areas,
Vuvuzela
You should be safe as long as you keep private chat, public chat, and clan chat off.
Seraphi
I thought it would be something to do with the game not recognising it, so yeah. what jimmy said, boss hunting and pking at the moment is pretty much suicide.
gremmy
You should be safe as long as you keep private chat, public chat, and clan chat off. BUT, when you put your public back to normal, you WILL crash. mervinator_9
So wait, other people are saying/using said sequence and then only the people who see/read the code are crashing or is it the whole world or what? Theres a fine line between not listening and not caring,I like to think I walk this line every day. Pinning blame on Jagex is like trying to put pants on an old man. Vuvuzela
so if someone types this sequence....once it appears on my screen my rs sever will crash? It won't appear on your screen but you will just freeze and get sent to a crash error screen. So wait, other people are saying/using said sequence and then only the people who see/read the code are crashing or is it the whole world or what? The code only crashes the people who are around the public chat area or clan chat of the person who entered the code. It's not the whole world. Stev
can you log right back on to another world if you get crashed? or is there some sort of delay? You technically stay logged in, however YOU crash... If that makes sense. Basically same effect as disabling your network, except you don't log-out for a long time (5 minutes usually). Carl
Don't do it, you may be in danger! *carl-dublin sort of regrets testing it. The details: You can crash someone over pm, EVERYONE that's around you in-game, or a whole clan chat. It crashes both you and them if your chat's on, but just them if your chats are off. It brings you to a page which has this message: "Error_game_crash - A problem has occurred while running the game." #-o Pictures in world 2: RIP Michaelangelopolous

As you'll likely have noticed, the servers in Australia and New Zealand have gone offline. This is what caused all those players to be unable to log in for an hour earlier.
