Motherduck1
http://www.youtube.com/user/Zezima0213 I have stopped playing RuneScape competitively because it's getting progressively easier over time. With it getting easier to train skills and gain exp, I've lost a sense of accomplishment in what I've worked hard to achieve since I started in 2001. If things will continue to get easier, it ruins the game for those of us who have been here since the beginning. I will get 99 Summoning eventually when I get bored enough to do so. I think this answers it.

Then when i finally came back, mining (and a lot of other skills) were pretty much automated.

In fact, it's one of the few (maybe only) skills that was easier (based on using the same methods now as then e.g. Powermining iron), since when you mined a rock and your inventroy was full, you'd mine the rock, and the ore would drop to the ground. Not necessarily. As of now, you have to click the rock once until you obtain an ore, but before you had to keep clicking til you finally obtained the ore. Another example is firemaking. Back then there was only one type of log, so it took a ages to increase your firemaking level.

Skreamo
Zezima, without a doubt. Apart from skilling, however, the following are the most famous: Sixfeetunder Durail321 Elvemage Jojo3000
k1masato
It depends what point you joined runescape - can you consider 'who' is famous / known in the game. Early RSC without a doubt youd have: 1. bluerose13x 2. Zonghui ( how many people feared this guy ? ) 3. Ifukkdyourmom ( lol talk about irony when it comes to him ). 4. Tks and L6vi ( top overall ). 5. Snakeslava ( 2x 99 ranged at a time it was a pain to train it. ) Later RSC: 1. Bonebreaker6 and 2. Lilyuffie RS2: 99's exploded.. so really whos famous anymore ? I guess Zezima, since he held the overall spot for a really long time. 15th to 99 Firemaking - August 2002 RSC Time.??th to 99 Woodcutting - 2004 RS2 Time. RuneAge
Two of the most famous players i know about are Uloveme and Zezima, mainly because as soon as zezima logs in, you get "OMFG!! ZEZIMA'S ONLINE!!@@@!!!" Plus the fact if you ask nearly anyone on runescape about zezima, they know exactly who your talking about. Click my signature for my blog!
