Doing so, 'ol Denny Boy would have to contact RuneHQ, plan it etc. if not i'd say it wouldn't be done 'till June. Its mostly the Admins/Mods of Tip.It who organise such things (And the Mods of the PvP Section of Tip.It.)

So basically people are trying to run a scam whihc to fall for you have to manage to miss the big red flashing exclamation mark that warsn of a chnage and not both to read the text screen.

If you fall for that you fail tbh.

It's amazing that in an age of flashing exclamation points, trade limits, and the second trade screen, that there are still item scams going on.

We're talking a new level of stupid here. =D>

I'm sure there's a flaw hidden somewhere deep within that security measure.... pretty sure.

lag is an reason to not see the exclamation mark.

If anything lag gives you MORE time to read the text screen

Player 1 puts up money

Player 2 puts up junk and mace

Player 2 replaces mace, red exclamation point flashes (Red Flag #1)

Both players hit accept, trade goes to second screen

Player 2's list includes junk and "ancient mace" (Red flag #2)

There's only so much Jagex can do to reduce scamming, but the players need to have at least an OUNCE of common sense and use those systems. If you fall for a scam in today's Runescape, you shouldn't be using the internet, it's too dangerous for you.

Not only did you list out the one and possibly only flaw in that trade system, you just described what most likely happened to the OP that led him to being scammed.

I must be suffering from the Stupid. What is the flaw again? Is it that people still don't pay attention to the warnings?

Not exactly a flaw as Jagex has done everything possible to prevent scams. But yes, that's possibly the closest thing to a flaw you'll ever find.

A popular one in the good old days was to put up the item, wait for the victim to put up the cash/item, decline the trade screen and say it was an accident. Then trade them again, wait for them to put up money and then quickly put up the new item and accept straight away. Even today there would be no red exclamation mark.

I'm just saying, this isn't the kind of thing you boast to people on a forum about. It's like getting scammed by a Nigerian 419'er, you just don't admit to people that you have that little common sense.

Hope your happy people, poor guy was just trying to stop others failing quite so hard, you've crushed his dream.

Tut Tut

Theres a fine line between not listening and not caring,

I like to think I walk this line every day.

Pinning blame on Jagex is like trying to put pants on an old man.

You both know he needs them, but he'll just keep dancing around, avoiding them at all costs.

It's a nice thing he did trying to warn people.

Unfortunately this scam is the oldest trick in the book and is 100% avoidable, lag or not, thanks to the red exclamation mark and text screen.
