Johannas
I bought 200 of these on the grand exchange in a lame merchanting attempt (black line represents when i bought them) I thought i was doing exactly the right thing, i'd studied the graph for the last month and not much change, then the price suddenly dropped dramatically. I thought the best thing to do would be to buy as many as i could before they started to rise again... but then they didn't rise as much as i thought and then they dropped even further. So the dilemma is - "what to do with 200 mystic mud staffs?" I bought them all at 40k, and if i sold them now i would get a 10k loss per staff. And i don't fancy losing 2mil when my entire bank value is less than than 35mil (just been skilling alot recently, spent 15mil to get 80 prayer) Should i wait for them to rise again? Or just cut my loses? Thank you to tripsis for an awesome sig!
Mylez
Hold onto them a little while longer, I'm sure you'll see an increase in price. Best of luck, and let this be a lesson to you! :
RosesFire
Wait for them to rise. People will lose their stuff, especially weapons/armour, in battles, and need to buy more. Throw them back on the Exchange in a week or so when the price heads back up, that way, if you do end up losing money, you'll lose less. Good luck~

pgmr185
This kind of thing happens to almost all people who try merchanting, so don't let it bug you too much. Merchanting involves a certain amount of risk. You can make a ton of money doing it, but you can also lose. The best thing to do is shake it off, try to sell them, and start again with something else. Don't let it scare you! Count that 2 mill loss as a learning experience and move on. In the long run you'll make it back many times over.

Lord Diddy
You should really never merchant anything that just skyrocketed and is going down. It is easy to see that a clan merchanted the item and dumped a few days from where you bought. In the next few days its going to stabalize, espeically since PvP worlds drop them as random loot, which furthers the less supply demand. Unless Jagex releases something that drastically needs the staff, then it will never go back up to when you bought. My Advice : Suck it up and sell them soon for a decent price. In the time you waste sulking for them to go back up you can make your money back and a load more. If you merchant, your bound to make a mistake, just assess the damage and rebuild. Johannas
You should really never merchant anything that just skyrocketed and is going down. It is easy to see that a clan merchanted the item and dumped a few days from where you bought. This was not the case, the item had been at a steady price for a whole month beforehand. It never 'skyrocketed' in the first place. Thank you to tripsis for an awesome sig!

Go learn your math kid. Anyway i would hold on to them. What goes up must come down, and vice verca. They will go up again, maybe not soon but they will someday. You might even end up making a profit if you hols on long enough. Same thing happned to me a few weeks ago. I spent most of my money (41mil) on Glories with the hope of merching with them.. They ended uo dropping to 39k each after bought them for 41k each. I was just about to sell them when they shot back upto 48k each and i made myself 7k profit each on 1k Glories. 7mil profit aint bad for doing nothing/ **Thanks to Boo_Boy666 for my amazing Singnature**[hide=Slaytanicc's Achievments]|99Cooking achieved 24Dec 2008|99Strength achieved 17Feb 2009|99Hit Points achieved 8April 2009||99Defense achieved 29May 2009|99Attack achieved 2August 2009|99Ranged achieved 14August 2009|[/hide][hide=Guides by Slaytanicc]Aviansie Maging + Ranging Guide (Must Read!!)Iron Mining + Banking GuideGreen Dragons GuideAnkou Slaying Guide[/hide]
Bladewing
Cut your losses and sell. They're not going anywhere but down, as there's a ridiculous amount of them coming in through PvP, and they're not very useful.
