F2P/Member Players

Recommended Posts

Hello, I recently have become F2p for a few, (getting members back in a week or so) And I have seen a huge difference in people from Member's and F2P worlds.

1- Combat levels. There are a lot more higher levels in members I have noticed. Usually the higher level F2P'ers I see they call themselves "Pure F2P" as they think they will never buy members.

2- Pures. Just a little difference I have seen. I see A LOT of low leveled pures in F2P, as I see that there are more higher leveled/experienced pures in members.

3- Skillers. Mostly the same as pures, more lower (noncombat leveled) players as to Members.

What differences do you see in the players of F2P/Members?

(this is not against F2P or Members)

Depending on where you go, you will either see nice people, quiet people, or snobby people who can't/won't stfu.

For example, if you enter the Hill Giants' cave at peak hours, you'll notice a lot of those "Mag3 Pur3 Pk Str Pwn U" noobs yelling at eachother and bragging about whose main is better and yelling at you if you safespot instead of ranging the Hill Giant face to face. These guys are the idiots of the F2P world. :P

Then you just see nice players doing their own thing, striking up occasional chats and such. These guys are the good guys of the F2P world.

But yeah, coming from P2P worlds, you members will notice huge differences between P2P and F2P people. My friend, Dutch_Please, recently became P2P again, and he's told me how the people over there are so nice as to saying "Sorry" upon arriving at an occupied rock and then immediately switching worlds. As for F2Pers... eh, you already know.

1. Yea. The longer people play, the higher level they collectively become. It happens with any game.

2. Throwaway accounts, basically. Many of them will see a few months of use followed by abandonment.

3. People get bored with their mains and create skillers.

In P2P you don't get that much attention when your combat level is high or you're wearing a skill cape. Someone might say ''nice skillcape'', but not very often. Basically everyone minds their own business :)

In F2P...Uhh...Where do i start? :P

People follow you around, some people call you a noob, some people think you're showing off (when wearing some P2P armour) and as a higher level you get a lot of ''wow''-s too

And in G.E. a lot of people are begging for money...Which is annoying as hell

All of those are pretty much no-brainers.

1-Duh? No summoning and slow xp?

2-Of course, pures fare far better in f2p pvp and there's no point in paying members on a "secondary" account

3-Also obvious. Usually when someone gets members they want to get the most out of their money.

But to support your observations:

1-In members the mean combat seems about 70-90, in f2p its more like 20-50.

2-F2P pvp worlds are more crowded and the pure training spots are as well

3-I've seen 3 skillers in all my time in members. I seen at least 20 in f2p, and these are only the ones I've talked to and not simply bump into and keep going.

F2P also seems a lot less mature, but that's also pretty obvious.

I know what you mean. I just saw a guy say to a guy with an hp cape "get s gf and a job u no life-losser" made me laugh a little at the guy. It just shows how some people as to how dumb they are at times :|

Pretty much what you said. I became f2p back in January after being members for 2 and a half years, so the change was immense. Not nearly as many people are red to me (you know, when you right click someone...) and the things people do are totally different...skill wise.

Draynor is packed with woodcutters and the mining guild always has quite a few people in it(steal my rocks :shame: ). I've got about 4 or so f2p skills that are 99 already so I am definitely limited in what I can do. Mining coal gets old fast and smithing is as slow as ever.

If someone's following you, ignore them.

If someone calls you a noob, ignore them.

If people are thinking that you're showing off, ignore them.

When you're in the GE, you should have your Public Chat turned to Friends.

In fact, always turn it to Friends before you even enter the GE.

I don't get why you couldn't do this in the first place to avoid becoming annoyed...

It's funny reading this, and seeing what you guys are saying about F2P players and 'maurity'. I have been free to play for all of my RuneScape time, I have a secondary account which I made a member not long ago to play around in mini-games like soul wars. I noticed that there were alot more rule breakers in members than in F2P. I was fishing in Catherby, and people were talking about what drugs they do, and why they do it. I world hopped, and in the next world, people were talking about how they binge drink.

It seems you're making assumptions, yes, there are immature players in free to play, and there's immature players in members as well. Add them to your ignore, problem solved.

1- Combat levels. There are a lot more higher levels in members I have noticed. Usually the higher level F2P'ers I see they call themselves "Pure F2P" as they think they will never buy members.

That's quite obvious, summoning isn't a F2P skill, and there's much more efficient ways to train in members, with games like soul wars, and pest control, and weapons such as whip's and godswords.

2- Pures. Just a little difference I have seen. I see A LOT of low leveled pures in F2P, as I see that there are more higher leveled/experienced pures in members.

As someone said above me, throw-away accounts, you're going to see more low level pures in F2P because you don't have to pay for it.

3- Skillers. Mostly the same as pures, more lower (noncombat leveled) players as to Members.

Once again, you don't have to pay for it. People make the accounts when they need a break from their mains, getting back to their roots.

In P2P you don't get that much attention when your combat level is high or you're wearing a skill cape. Someone might say ''nice skillcape'', but not very often. Basically everyone minds their own business :)

You don't get much attention in members, because you see it everywhere. People mind their own business, because seeing a skillcape isn't suprising.

If you go to F2P, players are awe-struck and skill capes, and the 'fancy'clothing you're wearing. You should take is as a compliment.

People beg for money in P2P as well, just add them to your ignore, problem solved.

About the maturity of players...

F2P mainly consists of 7-12 year olds acting like idiots and thinking that they are awesome because they sit and stare at changing pixels for hours, and they are F2P because their parents are smart enough not to give them a reason to stay inside all day.

P2P consists of people ages 13-25 who can pay for membership theirselves by getting a job/getting paid for chores and who sometimes think that this is like an social networking site that lets you do stuff in it. They talk about like alchohol and drugs (and other things) because they think they are talking to other adults (which are most of the time mature teenagers) and beleive that they are adults because the "Kids are sooo imature, like, they think farting is cooooll..." Really? That's what steriotyplical people think: the kids that play this game are immature because that's what they act like on F2P. Sad thing is, people are mainly judged on who is the most famous (who are normally the worst people) in that group. Normally people are kind enough not to bug others around them or hop worlds because they don't want to look like a child that's acting (or being) "noobish".

Another thing: F2P has people with "relationships" because they want to look like the troubled couples who seek help on TV shows, but P2P doesn't have any (or as much) "relationships" because A) they already have relationships in reality B) they know that dating over-the-internet is wrong/dangerous C) they don't WANT a realationship, or D) they can't get one

Anyways, F2P is mainly filled with children, and P2P is filled mainly with teenagers/young adults. But what are you gonna do?

There are three sides to any argument: your side, my side and the right side.

No marty. Im referring to those F2Pers who are like 7-12 and don't really understand the concept of others in a video game. Sorry of I offended you :?

There are [puncture]s on both P2P and F2P servers though. I have seen countless members on F2P servers acting elitist and dismissing everyone as nubs. In reality though most of my friends are F2P and are vehemently against getting members as they thinks its easier (which I agree with).

Its not only in f2p that you see arrogant high levels. I'll be at the Great Orb Project, and those high level members with skill capes are always going, "omfg guys like u make this game horrible!"

To be honest, its annoying as all get out.

But I will say, it kind of throws a bad name at all the mature free-to-play players when you get some eleven year old asking you out or begging.

Oh man....Nice stereotyping!

You must have missed all the mature, adult posts Members made when F2P got access to RSOF. Yeah, the reason why Jagex made the Rants forum all stickies only must have been because the childish 12 year old F2P'ers posted.[/sarcasm] And no, all famous people aren't nomrally the worst.

I'm not saying anything bad about Members just proving that your point is wrong. Everyone has its flaws.

I was F2P for the better part of a year, and I would always see people saying "need gf/bf" everywhere I went. I even witnessed a wedding at one point. :)

I just realized, though... I haven't even seen ONE of those since I've been a member. \'

Look at the RSOF, many members are on the same level as f2p'ers when given the chance to voice their opinions.
