the early bird one was the one i could relate too.

i hate the half killing. sometimes at blue drags, they would half kill, or do 2 at once. and thats just dumb, because theyre wasting their arrows and time...and theres nothing you can do about it :(

I completely relate the the Early Bird article. It happens a lot to me as I train Slayer every day.

I can definitely relate to the Early Bird article. It happens every time I go there, or when I go to kill Dagannoth...

So what is the moral of this story? I would say that it is to respect your fellow RuneScape players. Otherwise, you just might be featured on an article in the Tip.it Times.

 The Early Bird Fights for the Worm was a great article which I could relate to with other monsters. People like that can be so annoying.

The Did You Know had another interesting fact I was unaware of. No more basic elemental runes for me!

As all of the other replies, i can definately relate to the early bird article, and i really do relate to it. Only recently i became 83 slayer, and my first ever task was spirit mages, and when i got there it was empty, but after about 1/4 of the task a higher level'd player arrived and did exactly as happened in that article. I've only ever had 3 mages tasks, and the first two both had that type of crashing. Its ashameful really that some players in this game seem to have lost all respect for other people, and totally forget the other players are human's too.

The early bird article realy sums competetion in runescape. It is only when a stubborn person meets another stubborn person do we see a clash for the spot whether it's mining, hunter, or slayer.

Personally I fight for the better spot because I enjoy the competition in repetitive skills and well if I can win why not atleast give it a shot and then I'd have the best xp/hr. Of course I most likely get someone mad at me but if I don't know them it realy doesn't matter because there is a small chance I'll meet the same person again. Now if the person asks nicely for me to hop I will do so gladly but when it comes down to people who say "hop now" it just makes me stay no matter what. Most people however either just ignore you or start a one man flame war which consumes them while they do whatever. I didn't see the part where the writer asked the other person nicely to hop that could have solved the whole issue I know it does when I hop into a world that is occupied or when someone hops into my world. Either way I enjoy a bit of competition especially with the rude people who think they are all that. ;)

Great articles, a little typo in "the early bird fights for the worm", though

things on the ground again. I could act like the Level 128 and yell out what I got, but I didnt want to snoop to his level, so I kept silent about it.

Great Times :)

I can identify with "The Early Bird Fights for the Worm".

"300 programmers make their futile but glorious last stand against 1000000 angry players in The battle of Misthalin. They fight for honor, glory and new content sacrificing themselves so that their game may live on. This is Madness! This Is JAGEEEX!"

Heh....The Early Bird Fights for the Worm reminded me of a cockroach soldier trip I had. I was only level 113 at the time, using just whip + defender + fury, ect. This level 130, out of nowhere, came next to me and started stealing my kills. Or, should I say, trying to steal my kills #-o . He had a SS, torso, nez helm, ect, for max str bonus. Yet, every single kill, he failed. I had so much fun goading him every time, as he got more and more ticked off at me every kill. He kept at it for about 7-8 kills, then he logged. I felt so good, seeing somebody 17 levels higher than me, trying to take advantage of that fact, failing so hard. 8-)

You may say that I was the immature one, but hell, I was having a blast, so I don't care

I'll admit, I will steal other peoples kills if they hop into my world and start killing monsters in the same spot. I also half kill if someone hops to my world and starts slowing me down.

For example, I was at aviansies and there were two other people there, none of us tried stealing each others kills or anything and then some kid logs in and we attack the same aviansie and he then says "off" and I'm thinking, is he serious? He then proceeds to attack the two that were spawning by me so I stole his kills or half killed them and let him finish them off lol. He eventually hopped after insulting me. I wont hop to a world where people already are and steal their kills though.

I found it strangely amusing that i decided to read this article during a spiritual mage task.

I only steal kills if people are trying to steal my world. Otherwise, i usually hop.

the early bird should speak to everyone who has spent many hours building their charector up from a lvl 10. most of these noob players have eithe had their account given to them orheaven forbid bought them (YES this still happens)

I like messing with these noobish players by being overprepared and bieng able to outlast them in the first place. the best way to handle these people is to let them attack first and then attack, that way insuring that they take all the damage and you reap all the glory. this usually only lasts a few monsters and then they cry and leave or stop being rude.

Was the "Interview with Jagex!" the new thing that was discussed on the forums earlier, or is it just gravy to something else?

Imo its fine to steal somebodies kills if they log into your world and try to kill the things your are killing. Its just a lack of respect for other people killing something they had been at first. Its a lack of human decency.

If i go somwere to kill something and somebody is already there, i'll sometimes ask if they are going to be there long, or hop.

Unwritten rules are just that, unwritten.

While discipline and respect is nice it will always bend to force and survival of the fittest, i'm a free player atm and at cockroach soldiers i'm usually about 30 combat levels above everyone else. If there is a free monster i'll keep to myself, but when there's one between us i think nothing of "stealing" the kill because i earned the right to by training my combat more than them.

I'm not a jerk about it, and i'll live and let live as much as possible, but in the end it's just my right as a higher level to get the lions share

People need to stop complaining about kill steals and either:

A. Train higher than them

B. Steal/half-kill/be a jerk back

C. Swallow your pride and hop, if you're against a superior foe don't let stubborn pride take it's toll on your xp and drops (or in this case, homework lol). Don't let what someone who has to call out "boots" thinks interfere with your own enjoyment.

Today I did enjoy all of the articles. I had already read the interview. I think Forsakenmage's article (about writing RS fanfics) could have been longer, I really would have liked it if it was. It was surprising that I also liked the Losing yourself and Early bird ones, since I don't play RS much anymore.
