Actually, I always keep my chat on (not friends only) and I don't see what the big deal is, I do get random people talking to me and it's somewhat fun I keep my chat on as well, but I have a completely different result. Now... it might be because of where I am (the GE), but I recently started to train firemaking and I've had at least a begger every session. And I'm doing nothing but burn logs that I chopped myself. Granted, I don't play as often... so I got that going for me, but even when I am on to just burn 500 logs or so... I'm getting bugged by people. One of which was a lvl 94 claiming to has lost 93M... and wanted 10k from me. If you had 93M... you would know how to make 93M back without my 10k. Typically... you never run into that "cool person". Why? Because that "cool person" is probably in the same position you are. Not wanting to bother anyone while not wanting to be bothered by those "uncool people". You're either lying or have had some really bad luck I have a lot of "high lvl" "rich" friends and none of them are like that, even to "noobs"... You wouldn't have any friends like that, its the ones that arent your friends that might be like that =D. I have a couple of high level friends to, but there are still [developmentally delayed]ed ones. High level's and pures with high level mains are the worst runescapers. I am a high level myself and I am a crazy idiot that likes to take a rip at other people, though sometimes I can be nice and helpfull, especially to new players.... it's just there are so many different people that have high levels you can not throw them in a can and say; Hey all of you act the same. I reckon that some of the higher leveled p2p-ers get very annoyed with the fact that wherever they go they are recognised, followed and annoyed, and truly I understand they get a bit bittered by this. And if your "friends" say you bought your account... Are you sure they are your friends? because real friends aren't supposed to say stuff like that. As far as I am concerned I just keep on lvl-ing and I don't give a flying poop who things what of me :) I like being immature (though I am a tad old), I like making fun of other people and I like putting down people that try to show off when I am around :mrgreen: That's just me. Most high levels I know dont really talk to people who arn't on their friendlist, myself included though my private is always on. I get this all the time especially when I'm wearing my phat or something else that's expensive. I don't know how I made money it just accumulated over 5+ years of playing the game. I'm 115 right now, kind of a high lvl I guess, and many times lower lvl players will be very rude to me so I choose to not talk to them most of the time. I'm not using a bot I just don't want to answer you when you ask where I trained range to 99 because I didn't train it all in one place it was wherever I felt like being that day. That said I have met lots of low lvl people that are cool, and I keep my private chat set to on almost all the time. Thye don't really know how the game is really played and barely live outside of pest control. On the other end of the spectrum, the high level'd players that have non-combat stats to back up their combat are the respectful and wise players. Also, I logged on for 2 minutes to check ge offers and in that time was verbally abused by some random level 3, saying that I don't have a life. Typical high-leveled characters, at least the ones I encounter while mining in F2P, tend to be rather arrogant. Maybe that's just the competitive nature of the skill. Personally, I don't understand why anyone would be mean or arrogant to other players based upon their combat level. A high level means that person has spent a lot of time training combat skills. Does it mean they've spent no time at all on any other skills? Of course not, but there's no way to know that simply by hovering the mouse over them. There are plenty of level 3 pure skill characters that probably know more about the game than many level 100+ characters. So I think the main advice I can give you is; Just be yourself!
