Why oh why! Higher levels left in the dust!

Recommended Posts

It's about ur connection to the server, just like it was in rsc with catching if you had 2 pro catchers, the one with the lowest (fps/pid not sure what 1) would take the catch, so I recon it is the same in RS2.

What were you mining?

If it was iron/something quickly mined then it is most likely a case of his internet connection/clicking speed of the rocks being faster - iron as you probably know will usually only take one click to mine, so if you're too slow to click it you won't have chance to get the ore cause it won't be there.

Unless of course you were mining something mithril or higher, then it is either bad luck or bad game design.

He said granite, and this is truly a rant. I'm sorry you were getting 80%, but isn't it your fault for crashing the guy? Two wrongs don't exactly make a right.

im crashing him for crashing someone else. if you kill a murderer, does it make you a murderer? maybe so, but you have a legitimate reason.

and yea, it mightve been the connection. it was a british server, and im on US east

I don't understand, this is confusing. First, you crash someone because you think you can, if he was a higher level I'm sure you wouldn't. Then, you lose 20% of the time. This causes you to make the conclusion that higher levels are left in the dust with a mere 80% win rate? I honestly think that this is just a rant. If you want to change the title that might help a little... maybe something a addressing mining.

I totally agree that low levelled miners win too much over the high levelled miners. I've experienced that myself, and I've noticed that it's pretty much useless to have a high mining level in terms of speed. There really should be a greater difference. I mean, you have a higher level for a reason.

Or you could read the whole topic =D>

OT: I agree, this is something that should have been changed long ago, but it's to late for this type of change.

He beats you 1/5 times or 20% of the time and your crying? He's 9 levels lower then you do you think because your 89 and he's 80 that you should have 100% of the ores over him?

never said i was complaining, or else this'd be in rants. GFSON.

You used [WAGON] three times in your post about how someone beat you at mining, Im pretty sure this is whining and should be in rants. Not to mention half your posts just sound rage fueld.

If you kill a murderer because he killed someone how does that make you any better than him? And why shouldn't someone else then kill you for killing the murderer, hence making you now a murderer. And no, there is never a legitimate reason to kill someone.

It doesn't happen with just Mining, although the rare occasions that I happen to train Mining I have noticed it (although with Mithril or Coal, not Granite...)

I've accompanied much lower level friends who are doing the older quests like Legends or Underground Pass and when I'm around them I fail the Agility parts more often than they do.

Hate to say it, but I noticed this a lot when mining mithril ore in the mining guild. Even when I was at 60 mining and fresh into the guild, I was beating people with 70+ mining and getting the ore, sometimes even when they started first. I would even have to say that it went faster when someone else was at a rock with me, than when I was by myself. :?

I am starting to think, that this is kind of like clay resources with one resource in it. All players are clicking on it, and only one of them will get it. Could each ore spot have some kind of timer, that a certain number of "clicks" is needed to get the ore, and whoever gets the final "click" gets the ore? That is the only way I would think of this working out so that faster miners don't always win, and in fact lose more often. if I can get 3/5 of the mithril rocks that are in the mining guild vs someone with 70 or higher mining, and I am only at 60, surely something is wrong :wall: .

HAHAHA sorry am I the only one who caught that? So it's now okay to kill for a good reason?

He is quicker to click. Honestly, since it's granite and it's basically like iron and almost a 1 click, it's because you are too slow. Your skill level has nothing to do with it if your reflexes aren't faster than his, and to be honest, I think that's fair. First come, first serve, or in this case, first click first serve.

C'est la vie.

While it should be easier for high levels (maybe a 60-40% more depending on levels?), we dont wanna make it 100%, otherwise someone with just 1 more mining level could walk in (example) on me, mine everything im mining and my training would be ruined.

I noticed it too, I'm 93 mining and yet lower (like in the 80s) keep getting the rocks I mine. It's been doing that for quite a long time too.

It's possible for every rock he gets to it before you. Then he basically gets one free dice roll before you even get there. If he gets .50 of all rocks, that initial roll he gets by himself makes a big difference.

Also, if it's anywhere near being analagous to lower level ores, the level shouldn't make a difference. If you're 70 mining, you're going to almost always first click get a low level ore. A level 99 will also get first click. Level makes no difference in this case, just connection speed. The level 99 is higher than the 70 but I don't believe the system works by competing the two miners against each other. The first to click gets it.

It seems everybody here thinks he lost 20% of the ores, but he said he lost 4/5 of the time, so he was losing 80%...

Due to my epic stats, I have now started WGS (but I still hate spoilers).

Reading comprehension skills seems to be lacking.

It's perfectly fine to kill someone in self defence. (As in IT'S HIM/HER OR YOU, RIGHT THIS MOMENT.)

He could just have faster reactions and beat you to the rock.

And if its a lower level ore, its more about reactions than your level.

Hah. Funny this came up. I was powermining Iron in the Edgeville mine, and picking up the addy when it appears, when some guy with 99 comes up to compete with me for it. Somehow I beat him every time. with my paltry 77.

It's always luck in those battles. Same as PVP. It's why I always go for the worse/less crowded spots.

Unless its been changed its possible for 2 ppl to get ore from the same rock. It happens when both get the ore on the same swing. It happens alot in the minning guild with the coal rocks. I know im going to be going against the grain but i mostly beat out lower lvls with my minning (lvl90). Not that i beat them to the ore all the time but id say i win against lower lvls 7/10 times. I never try to out mine those higher then me so idk how well i do against them.

As someone else has already stated, two wrongs don't make a right, Just because he crashed someone else, doesn't mean you have to get involved. I do agree however that if the level 133 was there first, then the other player should of respected his superior and left.

Rofl superior? Since when did levels make anyone superior, particularly when combat levels have [bleep] all to do with mining. He should have respected him as another player, not as a [bleep]ing superior.
