Lol,l I experienced enough to know how slow it is.

And Ray, he's asking a question of which is better. That's it. Not which has higher hits, which is pretty obvious...

And I also see people using DFS because it has higher strength, as well as Fighter torso where defense is required. I've also been called an idiot for using Obby rings, and Ranging pots. Most people who play Runescape have no idea what they're doing, or at least efficiency wise.

Yes Kent, people are stupid for playing runescape for fun, not for fame.

How is flaming other people being efficient fun...?

There were 2 parts I could've directed my comment to. I directed it to "DFS because it has higher strength, as well as Fighter torso where defense is required."

Which means these people want to hit high for self pleasure.

Although if you really want to take Slayer as a serious skill that is meant to be grinded, just go with the Whip and Rune defender combo. Dont have fun with high hits and people saying 'hey nice gs' ;)

You only get that comment with AGS now.

For all you know he could have a very lucky streak with his BGS and hit solid 40s every hit.

Better isnt always the best option. Better is sometimes a decent option that isnt boring.
I dont need a siggy no moar.

He could also do that with a whip... it's called averages, that's what efficiency is about. I, personally, dont' find BGS more fun than a Whip at all, it's sluggishly slow. Either way, fun is subjective, and I personally don't see how higher hits is fun in PVE. But either way, it's undeniably slower than a Whip.

I dont know but alot of people get a thrill out of hitting one 60, rather than two 30s.
I dont need a siggy no moar.

A BGS' 60 is around 40 with a whip.

Thought BGS had a higher chance of maxing than a whip.

Either way, whatever. Same deal.
I dont need a siggy no moar.

Nope, Strength determines you max hit, attack determines if you hit or miss.

I was using the SS for a while when training strength. I quite liked that, because it makes a different sound than the whip.

I liked the special also. Lightning. Can't go wrong with that.

But obviously I knew I wasn't getting the maximum experience. After I got 99 str I switched back to the whip.

There is no difference with ags or sgs, wich are both useless, but for their special. I'm really confused on why you are asking this. You've used a gs before, so are you just asking wether BGS spec is worth it for slayer? The obvious answer is no, since you will kill the monster 3 sec later, making lowering his defence extremely pointless.

BGS is aweful for slayer. As is an AGS or ZGS. SGS as a main weapon also stinks. SGS for pray restoral and hp restore is good however.

Stick with Rdefender and whip for everytask or a Sarasword for str training/waterfiends

Dragon Drops: 80+ boots, 7 med, 3 skirt, 2 left half, 2 Spear, 2 2h
Slayer: 30+ whips, 4 Bows, 1 Mask, 3 Granite Legs, 1 Visage (Wyverns)
Notable GWD Splits: Bandos Tassets: 12, Bandos Chest: 11, Bandos Hilt: 2
Proud Slayer of 99 Att/Str/Def/HP/Range/Summoning

Don't use it. Whip or sara sword are both faster killers.

Whip + defender with SGS is the only way that a GS is good efficiency wise. I wouldn't buy it, but if he feels the urge.
Thoroughly retired, may still write now and again

I've seen 52's with my Whip and DFS combo.

The differences between each GS are the specials, since the stats of all 3 are the same.

I would buy a BGS if you truly want it, but only use it once the special has recharged. Use a whip for actual training.

BGS is only good for tasks like Dark Beasts, maybe Abby Demons and Gargoyles. But obviously for dust devils and fire giants just use whip + defender.
