Mmm nice. I've never done any real macro photography at all, this should be challenging, which is goood. It'll also give me the chance to use the wireless flash triggers that just arrived in the mail! Woooooo.

So macro photography is like an extreme close up of the object you're shooting?

I'm going to enter this one :D I don't have a macro lens so it may not be as clear as the others who do have one.

Oh, those must be great. I've been thinking about buying a 'Cactus Wireless Flash Trigger V2s', but I decided not to buy it any time soon. I have to stop spending money, and I want a new guitar first #-o

Anyway, I will enter. I havent done anything macro lately, but I'm sure I'll come up with something nice for this comp.

Unfortunately, the weather seems to be getting worse and worse.

By worse, do you mean sunnier so you can't do waterdrop macro's?

Its easier to shoot macros with some decent weather instead of rain.

I feel like shooting insects, which will show themselves in sunny weather. (not all, but most)

Dark Aura, why can't you just scan the prints in? You certainly have enough time. We've love more entrants :D

Woopi, i bought the CTR 301 triggers, i did quite a bit of research and all of the reviews that compared them preferred them over the cactus triggers. I reckon they're much better built, the receiver in particular is better because of the flat base, much more convenient to use. They're said to have a lot less misfires as well.

Alright, seems like a good deal. I cant find the CTR 301 triggers on Amazon though.

These guys seem to be pretty positive about it too: http://www.flickr.com/groups/strobist/d ... 535964184/

You won't regret it :D

You may have to change the batteries though, mine haven't failed yet, but a lot of people have said that they've failed within an hour of buying them hah. Other than that, they work a charm.

I fear Tripsis!!

You summoned???

I'm so glad that I found this thread! I hope that I remember to enter! I'm going on vacation from the 9th - 18th so I won't have much time to come up with something!

And just a clarification: this theme is more like "close up photography" right? Because if we were doing true macro photography only, then most people wouldn't be able to participate. Because in the photography world, macro is actually a magnification ratio of at least 1:1 or greater. So I think "close up" would be a more appropriate description.

I did say in the POTM2 thread that close up would be a better term, as I know not everyone has a macro lens, but you can still do very nice close-ups with an 18-55mm.

I might join this time. This is my favourite category (see avatar). :D

You're accusing me of bigotry, how ironic. It's a nice attempt at argument, but your responses are facile and asinine, if not diatribe. Who's arrogant now?

Why did it give you shivers? Baby spiders, supposed to be cute ^^

They were actually in a big ball, about 200 odd of them in one little ball, but soon as i closed in they all started running around :( So i had take one with the dead fly and them moving pretty dam fast ;)

Oh and for the record, these are actually my first ever macro photos..Just used the family camera which is a 7.1 megapixel with a crappy lens and the macro setting :) And i didn't do any of the manual stuff :P

That's odd, because mine are exactly the same. Both are my first two attempts at macro (or as I should call it, Close-up) photography, and both were taken with my Family's 7.1MP Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3 Camera. Strangely, the camera is 8.5MP, but Panasonic only use 7.1million active pixels at a time to allow for proper aspect ratio changes.

Once we enter a photo, is that it? We can't take it back and swap it?

I think I'll submit one at the end of the deadline if that is the case. I'll probably find a better picture.
