Malignius Mortifier..

It's been mentioned a few times (mostly pre-summoning), but yes it does seem to suggest something. If you're a quester you'll know that he actually helps you summon some skeletons, and you can do so after the quest aswell (although for a very short time, and it doesn't accomplish anything after the quest).

Necromancery (sp?) would be an interesting add-on to summoning but I don't think I see the need/benefit.

Also, he's been there for years now. I have a feeling he was there before Swan Song, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

He has been around forever but whether he metioned Necromancy the whole time is what I'm wondering. Maybe somehow linked to MA? Maybe he's the guy who teles you there? Or maybe he'll be the leader of it and teach tutorial? Darnit I just started speculating.

^ I'm absolutely sure that Necromancy was the original name for Summoning. Not really sure myself, hopefully I, or someone else can confirm this.

Life runes, addition to Magic.

Hunter skill -> raising minions.

Necromancy.

They settled with a combination of the key parts and came out with Summoning.

Malignius is a broken link or hint, that they haven't fixed and may never will. And I hate it when they do that. :|

Anyone remember their promise of EIGHT Dwarf quests? We're barely even to three.

He's been there forever, and has always been a necromancer.

I think there will probably be a quest in the future delving further into necromancy, but for now there's really not much to him.

I don't see anything new in that dialogue.

I heard somewhere that they changed Necromancy to Summoning because they didn't want parents to think they were promoting satanic stuff.

You mean like fighting for an evil god with werewolves, demons, and other monsters on his side? :-w :ohnoes:

He is the most recent or like ten zillion necromancy references in-game.

the Zorges quest features them and theres 2 houses tht have been around forever with necromancers in them.

The dark wizard at the wizards tower also used to (still does?) use necromancy to summon imps.

Plus he's been used in severeal quests, such as swan song.

I can't confirm it, but I could've sworn I saw talk of the concept skill "Necromancy" becoming the skill "Summoning."

Curse my lacking archive skills! :s

You're obviously misinformed.

Necromancy and Satanism are two wholly separate things. I'm afraid you've bought too much into hollywood's version of Satanism. While actual Satanism is just as stupid, it's far less interesting.

Real Satanism pretty much just says, if it makes you happy, do it, and don't give a damn about who you step on in the process. It's actually a philosophy more than a religion as most modern day Satanists don't even believe there's any such thing as Satan.

I mostly just think they're [developmentally delayed]ed because they consider solipsism a "satanic sin" and i find solipsism to be very very intriguing.
