So the other day me and a friend were have a discussion about the 26k trick. I said that i hoped it would not get nerfed to the point were it becomes a ad source of money. I like killing green dragons in a pvp world were i can make decent money and gain exp while gaining ep for a potentially high drop. He pointed out that if PvP gets nerfed and it becomes impossible to make money off of it i can always resort to 'honor Pk-ing'. I decided that once i get 100ep ill go try this out, so i did. I bought myself some decent PK gear (Dharoks with D Long as a spec weapon). I skuleed myself on the first guy that wanted to fight me (Full Rune and AGS). He was risking about 500k in total (item protect over ags) and i was risking over 6million (Item protect over Fury). so we started fighting and as i got hm to low health he starts running. Honor pker starts running. now i don't get it? is running away from a battle supposed to show honor? Ive watched over 1000 fights in pk worlds (i enjoy walking around and watching dharok fights|) and 8 out of 10 times the one getting owned would run away. Seriously, some of you might say that it doesn't happen as often as i say but i can assure you it does. How is running from battles any more honorable than doing the 26k trick? why is taking the smart and easy, non risky way less honorable than taking the risky hard way? He had much less to lose than i did, yet he still ran. How can this be a profitable enterprise if you have to attempt killling 5different people before you get someone willing to lose something?

 

And then we get to rushers and pjers. Honour? no. they try and justify their lame skills by saying they risk alot. they realyy dont risk anything with the new bh pk. They spec you, and when they fail (90% of the time) they simply go to a safe sane and they are safe. I rushed a few times back when i had D claws and i felt like a total [puncture] doing it.

 

Why does jagex even bother with PK when it has so many problems? the will never get it perfect. there will always be 2 factors influencing it : 26k trick or RWT. JAgex will have to choose, either they nerf it to stop 26k but which will allow RWT or they are going to have to accept the fact that inorder to stop RWT the 26k trick must live on. And in all honesty, whats wrong with makeing 60mil in 2weeks using the 26k trick? Its a wise way of making money.

There has always been tag teaming, player jumping, running, safing and tele'ing.

 

For honor theres the duel arena for playing dirty theres PK'ing thats the way I've always seen it.

One of the only ways to fix the 26k trick will be to make pvp the same as the old wildy system. this way the 26k trick will be basically wiped out, but this also brings back the RWT. With the current system RWT is impossible but it also allows you to do the 26k trick. I cant see any way for Jagex to fix the 26k trick that will stop both.

Running isn't dishonorable, but teleporting is. There is (was?) a whole list of seemingly-contradictory honorable and dishonorable PK'ing tactics. If someone runs away and survives, that's your fault for failing to kill him. Yes, you risked a bunch of gear, but in that situation it seems you risked a bunch of useless gear. Should've brought ice barrages too or something, or at least vengeance.

 

 

 

I think in this context, you have "wisdom" confused with common sense. Similarly, if you were wiser you'd probably have killed him :P

Jagex will never bring back the old wildy system (they've stated it numerous times). But they have to stop the 26k trick.

 

 

 

They simply need to reduce the drop rates of the new PvP items, fix the 0 EP bug and work out the kinks in the PvP drop list/method which have always been there.

 

 

 

Even with the old wildy your still going to get runners, pj'er, tag teamers, clans and numerous un-honorable options.

Here are some facts about PvP.

 

 

 

1) If you have nothing on you, they'll kill you.

 

2) If you have gear they'll most likely run away.

 

3) If you're skilling in PvP with say a pickaxe they'll spec you with dclaws, yet if you attack them with a pickaxe they'll pray melee.

 

4) If you come back and kill them with gear tb etc, they'll make excuses to why they died.

 

5) No pker admits to dieng, they always seem to lag conveniently before death.

 

6) They tell you not to safe yet eat at 70hp.

 

7) they'll make up rules say don't pot don't safe don't tele yet they'll do all of them, they'll tag and moan when they run, they'll always fall back on comments like "GF NERD" if they can't win.

 

 

 

Pking has never been and never will be honorable people do anything to win, it's a game, people want to win and succeed, pray, safe say you lagged as much as you can this is how "real" pkers do it!

The other day, some guy tried rushing me with a DDS (thinking I was AFK whilst I was just getting EP), I retaliated with a Piety DDS and was owning him. The he runs out, calls me a nerd and a safer (even though he ate 5 times before I ever took my first bite) and tells me to go to F2P PvP because I suck at PKing.

 

 

 

So yes, there is no honour in PvP.

 

 

 

PS: I hate when people call out to me to stop using Prayer. It's 9 level of my combat level, and I got it to use it, not to let some guy that invested his combat levels in Strength to own me.

Personally, I think at the very least Jagex should create a spell called "Tele-follow". If you're fighting a person in combat and they teleport away, this spell lets you go to their last teleport location (so long as you have the levels and quests to go there) so long as you cast it within 10 seconds of combat. We're splitting hairs at that point. The main thing is remove this big safety net called teleporting without forcing players into level 20 wilderness and without removing teleporting in PvP worlds (no real benefit to teleport in BH worlds).

EDIT: Above question isn't trying to be rude, just asking a question. Also, I personally would rather just have RWT and no 26king. (No I don't RWT). I know that people shouldn't just be able to buy money, but back when real world trading was around you could actually train skills without losing money. Also, with 26king everybody is getting money for nothing, and prices on everything are rising. Makes it hard to compete unless you 26k also, because if you just keep your money it will become worth less and less than it was.

I dont do the 26k, I will never do it. Not because there are more "honorable" ways to gain cash. JESUS that is an internet game, there is no such thing as honor. I just prefer to gain the cash my own ways.

why do these discussions always pin-point honor. the real deal should be about overall morals in runescape that conflict with the way we live our actual real lives. runescape is a fictional place where the real world doesnt apply. when we log on we definatly take on the roll of a fictional character, where we enter another realm.

I've never honor pked in my life. If I have a fair chance at winning, I stay the fight. If chances are slim I'll run. If there's no chance at all and I'm risking a lot I'll teleport and if I'm not risking all that much I'll just say "oh well" and let them kill me. It's all about what helps you the most, not what other people think of you when you do it.

I don't really care about all this honor or whatever it is called. I don't PK at all for this reason. Last time I was watching a fight and popped on prayer, they asked me (read: demand me) to turn of prayer. Now, why would I?! O yes, so you can kill me.

 

 

 

Why not eat at 50 hp? O ye, so you can kill me. What do I gain from dieing? Nothing what so [cabbage] ever.

 

If you don't like it, don't do it. Or just turn of general chat and wish for the best. If you are going to fight, make rules before the fight. Stick to those rules. PS: Even in RS classic, there was no honor, but at least you were forced to fight 3 rounds. And there was a lot less swearing
