What are you looking to burn?

This would be one of your other pointless post. Does it really matter what he wants to burn?

When you say CD burning i take it your are looking for an application that burns. Not the physical hardware of a CD burner as your refer to iTunes. I would use ImgBurn or InfraRecorder. I personally prefer ImgBurn.

Personally i like infra. But either should be good=)

As long as you aren't crazy and buy a Nero copy.

CDBurnerXP is a free application to burn CDs and DVDs, including Blu-Ray and HD-DVDs.

It also includes the feature to burn and create ISOs, as well as a multilanguage interface.

Everyone, even companies, can use it for free.

If you burn with that program, you will see nothing on the CD with any other OS than windows XP. Be warned.

Nero is insane but a good program once you figure out which of the programs to use (some insane Nero suite came with a CD/DVD burner my dad bought). If you use windows, it should have come with a free edition of Roxio CD burner which works well in my experience for burning music CDs from Windows Media Player.

Have you at least tried it? We used it in college and couldn't see what was on the cd unless we were on XP.

Yes I have, and it works fine. CDBurnerXP uses the same standard file systems (ISO 9660/Joilet/UDF) as all the other burners listed here. All modern operating systems support these formats, though OSX may have trouble with ISO 9660 Level 3, which is Apple's fault. BSD/Linux/Windows have all been able to read ISO 9660 Level 3 since the 90's.
