I joined there irc channel and where they said they were trying to give me higher access, when it kept changing it back. They told me i had to set mode -x and not use my bnc. This meant they could fully see my ip adress, which in a hind sight was a stupid idea... anyway i was standing up in edgy when i randomly lose connection.. i havent been dcing or even lagging for a few days.. so this was fairly odd.. seconds after losing connection this this is what i read in irc.. (im using the nick `^_\\) (19:25:29) <@NameRemoved> omg (19:25:31) <@NameRemoved> i tried to help (19:25:32) <@NameRemoved> omfg@! (19:25:34) <@`^_\\> wut (19:25:36) <@NameRemoved> some ranger got on me (19:25:38) <@`^_\\> im dead? (19:25:45) <@NameRemoved> and some kid and veracs (19:25:46) <@NameRemoved> kill you log back in and sure enough im in edgy.. missing my claws zerker ring whip fury fire cape ect.. by now im pretty sus.. espacially when someone ive never even met started to offer me 76ks cuase he felt bad for me.. He asked me to meet at the bh crater...by now id figured it out and decided id take nothing, and see if i randomly dced again. surely enough the second i enter the creator i am dissconnected again and log back in to find my self in edgville. they then kbed me from the channel, leaving me with this message: (19:39:11) <@`^_\\> sad kids (19:39:23) * Client set mode: +b *!*@Removed (19:39:23) * You were kicked from #NameRemoved by Client (http://img182.imageshack.us/img182/3835 ... 23304t.png HOW DO U FEEL) (19:39:23) * Attempting to rejoin #NameRemoved in 2 seconds... (19:39:25) * Attempting to rejoin #NameRemoved... * Cannot join #NameRemoved, you are banned from the channel that image for you who are to lazy to click the link: i was ddos'ed.. so just warning you all, if your using irc make sure ur in a BNC and dont fall for stupid traps like i did. the channel this happened in was #NameRemoved and the person who killed me was NameRemoved if u see these people let them know that they are sad for me :D anyway i spose there needs to be something to be disscussed.. so here it is.. Who else has been ddos'ed, how did they do it and what would be effective ways to prevent it? spose this will get locked or moved or something cuase of whatever and thats cool, just kinda pissed off.. like when i lose 130m becuase of stupidly missing pray i can laugh... but when it happens becuase some nerds hacked my computer or whatever it really sucks.. whatever idk what else to say.. sup idk wow lolll Mod Edit - Please don't name other people in a negative light. And to the staff, this is a serious problem now and several people are KNOWN WITH PROOF by most communities to be DDOSer's, removing their names does not help - people need to know these risks. dedicate your idle computer power to a scientific project. DDOS or direct denail of service attack has been more popular after I first saw it happen to theuberelite. Now there are people making videos about the highly illegal act. It was also rumored that one of Jagex's servers in the US got ddos'd causing the worlds it holds to be down for a few days. But the fact is this ddos'ing attacks should not be allowed to continue on.... And that was what was asked to be discussed. 2: Have you actually watched any of his pk'ing videos ? They are all very good quality , Only when he has claws does he die.....But anyway he is a good pker , so stop trying to flame him for not , when you actually dont know him. He also was pj'ing in the normal way with no errors ... But got killed in an unfair way by some script kiddys. 3. He can pk so stop flaming him over something that isnt what the topic is about. 4. I personally have never been ddos'ed yet i dont pk ;). The only way i know of preventing it is to hide your ip but with programs such as irc gaining access to it , it can be difficult.
