A dead end for PJing?

You will now be properly classed as being 'in combat' when you are attacking someone else, even if you've not been attacked back. Also, if you teleport while in combat, you will now lose 20% of your Earning Potential (EP).

This means you can safely far cast someone without worrying about PJers, I think pjing business is pretty much impossible now (Only way I can think of doing it is if both stop attacking). Also seems like people finally have a penalty for teleporting, not so good for PvP skillers though.

Do you think claws will drop now that they're more useless?

Many times in a fight both players eat at the same time. This still allows pjing. Besides, clawers can pj you as soon as you kill someone just the same. It actually helps the pjers a bit, allowing them to not be attacked while they attack you.

Although I do enjoy the teleport update.

It didn't kill it but it did hurt it pretty badly. Claws are already starting to crash FYI.

does ths count for npc's? like if im attacking an npc and its not attacking back and i still get attacked?

Doesn't PvP come before PvM? (If you're attacking an NPC a PKer can just come along and you attack you anyway)? I'm sure this has been the case for a while now.

I was at Hob mines, and a guy accidently skulled on me, so I tried to spec him, but I couldn't because a hob was attacking me. This was weeks ago, so I dunno if its fixed or not.

Not good for skillers.

I don't see why it was added, now its forcing people to do non productive things while gaining EP.

Infact, who needs to woodcut while getting ice barraged and having to teleport and lose your EP when you can just bolt.

The pjing thing is good though.

O.O

I'll just confirm this for you guys, now and before the update, if you were in combat with an npc, another player could still attack you. Jagex made this about a year ago to stop the people who avoided combat by attacking edge skeletons.

OT: I don't think this will end pjing, as 95% of pjing or rushing I've seen is on EP gatherers and trickers who just finished a fight.

Ouch. May I ask how?

So this means you either have two choices:

A. Opt to lose what you are using in order to keep your EP.

B. Teleport and lose your EP.

I would personally choose option B. Chances are the EP you would end up using wouldn't pay for what you lost (unless you use welfare or something. Or got lucky on the drop) How many people have gotten an Ancient statuette with 0-25 EP though? A few I bet. So really you could just keep pking like normal right?

So...

How do i gain EP now? -.-

Actually pk :ohnoes:

edit: nvm i cant read

yeah this is pretty double edged because people can just sit at edge farcasting for fun

also has implications for team tb'ers and then switching to a barrager

I haven't seen any decent mages in the wild... they're all either wearing mystic or mixing ahrims with incompatible gear... like ahrims top and verac skirt, instead of verac brassard and ahrim skirt (verac skirt has a MASSIVE negative mage att bonus compared to the brassard)

SO after someone kills anotehr person, you can attack them without getting pj'd by another pjer? This also hurts people who skill on pvp world and get ep.

It adds danger to pvp skillers and pvp wasn't ment to be ep farmfest so kill them if you can!

I like the idea of keepin skillers out of pvp just to get EP. PVP worlds are meant for pking, not skilling last time i checked. also teleporting and losing EP is a great idea, why should someone not be penalized for being a wuss and teleportin to safety?
