kingbrooks
To be honest this is becoming one of my favourite series at the minute! I find the immature comedy of it actually great! I know it's not the best known programme so I would be interested to see other viewers thoughts on it. Also it's my first series where I prefer the American version to it! (Just to let you know, American Idol, America's got talent and America's version of the Apprentice and House just isn't good compared to the English version ;) , I mean come on, that 4 year old got into your top 10 in America's got talent.) P.S. Please dont bring up that last part too much in this thread as it would be getting away from the subject...just had to be said. I believe this year's season is now over? Shame I'll miss it but there's always a whole new season to look forward to next year (I hope). champion
I assume it's just like the American show Wipeout but with a slightly different name? The one where people go through an obstacle course and do the other challenges and stuff? Eh if there's nothing else on I'll have it on in the background, it's kind of entertaining. Danqazmlp
To me, it just seemed like a rip of Takeshi's castle. It was good for the first few episodes, but there is 0 variety, it's the same challenged and obsticle courses over and over. Then they tried to milk it by showing it condensed, and started repeating it, straight after it had first finished it. Want to be my friend? The American one is Total Wipeout! USA or Wipeout! USA, I actually forget. Our one just takes of the USA part. I agree that it is like Takashi's castle, and however I almost enjoy the fact that it seems like a low-budget show offering little variety. I just find its a nice easy watch at 3pm. :D Best Rubik's cube time solve: 27.81 seconds.Completed Facebook Tetris Marathon (670k score)2000+ total with 5 99's, fletching, cooking, attack, thieving and firemaking
doomy
The commentary is pretty much what makes this show, it has its moments. It's very repetitive though. I like the commentary quite alot on the Australian version. Doomy edit: I like sheep
kingbrooks
Theres an aussie version? \ Yeah the commentarys are what make the show, shame Richard Hammond in the English version isn't very good at this. :| Best Rubik's cube time solve: 27.81 seconds.Completed Facebook Tetris Marathon (670k score)2000+ total with 5 99's, fletching, cooking, attack, thieving and firemaking
unkn0wnwarrior
I'll take Takeshi's Castle over this, anyday. I've watched Wipeout several times and it rarely changes very much, so it gets rather boring for me.
JoeDaStudd
Was just about to mention Takeshi's Castle but its been said lots already. The best bit is you know they think because they go to the gym or train for it that its going to be easy. Would love to see a UK/US true version of Takeshi's Castle with all the wacky games, nothing quite compares to some of the games. I think that would be an incredible program, I have seen a few Takeshi's castle episodes where they've had westerners on, lets say they didn't fair too well  Want to be my friend? TheValeyard
Has anybody ever actually seen anybody win Takeshi's castle? I swear that laser thing at the end is rigged.
JoeDaStudd
Has anybody ever actually seen anybody win Takeshi's castle? I swear that laser thing at the end is rigged. I've seen a parent and child combo win it. They get a little gold box with something inside. That was the only time out of about 100 or so episodes where anyone has actually made it. Even then they won by default as the last guard had his ring pierced (water gun version) at the same time as they "lost". Wongtong
I generally can't stand any programmes like that, Wipeout here is basically just people being punched in the face by metallic boxing hands and trying to jump on big red balls (NOT testicles). Very rarely do I find it funny, but I'm able to laugh sometimes if I'm feeling silly enough. I've only seen MXC as opposed to Takeshi's castle but it's better than Wipeout imo. 8,180WONGTONG IS THE BEST AND IS MORE SUPERIOR THAN ME#1 Wongtong stalker.Im looking for some No Limit soldiers! MXC is Takeshi's Castle only with a voice over and a some editing. They merely renamed it and added "funny" tweaks. Yes, I realised, which is why I said as opposed to Takeshi's castle; I figured it was the same except with [developmentally delayed]ed commentary. Which one is better out of the two anyways? One with or without [developmentally delayed]ed commentary? 8,180WONGTONG IS THE BEST AND IS MORE SUPERIOR THAN ME#1 Wongtong stalker.Im looking for some No Limit soldiers! Danqazmlp
Takeshi's castle has Craig Charles (Lister from red dwarf) commentating. Never heard of the other version. But i have to admit, i think i've seen them win less than 5 times, but those episodes are so far apart they might be the same ones. I've not laughed so much at a game show as i did on the dressing up Takeshi's castle, when people were in massive costumes. Particularly the guy in the totem pole outfit trying bridge ball, he couldn't move his hands enough to actually grab the ball  Want to be my friend? Wipeout brings out the childish humour in you, can't honestly say watching fat people being punched into mud isn't funny  Best Rubik's cube time solve: 27.81 seconds.Completed Facebook Tetris Marathon (670k score)2000+ total with 5 99's, fletching, cooking, attack, thieving and firemaking
Will H
It's one of those shows that really shouldn't be funny at all, but I can't help cracking up while I watch it. I love Takeshi's Castle too, probably for the same reason. ~ W ~
