Guild Wars 2 - Official release date 8/28, 8/25 for pre-purchasers

Had a big weekend of WvW. My guild spread out through the three borderlands and made sure we held a fully upgraded keep in each. A fully upgraded keep is ridiculous. Like 6 people can hold a fully upgraded keep, with all the guards, and how hard it is to break down the doors/walls.

I didn't get much WvW this weekend, but did the attackers use catapults and flame rams?

They used it all, didn't matter. It was rare that a group would even reach the gate, little less get something built. They eventually gave up on attacking the keep completely after 3 hours of us holding it, since they just got massacred anytime they got in range on the cannons.

I really wish I would have played Guild wars. I am really wanting to get the lore of this game. I know about the races for sure, but the dragons and how they came to be interest me more then I thought it would. I have a lot of reading to do before the game comes out.

So what server were you guys on? We may have fought. I was the Asura engineer for Jade Quarry that rained grenades into the crowd and took down all the enemy siege weapons with mortars.

The dragons were already there before the Gods came to Tyria. If you want to know more about the lore, look up WoodenPotatoes on youtube, he has an amazing channel.

It came out about 3 hours before the time was said. I got on and to be honest it wasn't that bad. Lag was an annoyance but I dealt with it. Came on earlier today and the servers where down for about 2 hours. Now the only issues I am having is the trading company is down. Game is running pretty good. I am very pleased with it and looking foreword with the game.

If you want to add me in game, name is Coitebodher.

My friend's and I got it. I decided to start with a Charr Engineer. I think I might make a Necromancer as well.

There are so many icons on the map, it's rather... intimidating. What with the Points of Interest, vistas (Assassins Creed anyone?), etc. it's just a bit overwhelming. But other than that, it is pretty fun so far. Managed to 100% explore Lion's Arch in about 30 minutes.

=P~

Lag has finally subsided. I've had nothing but a good time so far.

I play with a few friends on Ehmry Bay. Working on an Asuran Engineer named "Vono" atm. Feel free to add me.

Just more ways to help break monotony - totally optional but worth doing for the XP. They won't be overwhelming once you've played for several weeks/months. Honestly, I think it's awesome they have so many different ways to gain XP.

My friend and I have been playing PvP a lot, and we decided to try out a few classes. He likes the Thief the most, while I'm getting pretty decent with the Mesmer (?) class. I don't like how the PvP scoring system is made up. It could AT LEAST show the Kills/Deaths of everyone, instead of each person's score.

But I must say, the trebuchet on the one castle town map is so fun to use once you zero in the main hot-spots. I've gone 250+ score on that map from just using it.

At the moment there is another build coming out for the game. Hopefully will fix the majority of the problems that were going on earlier. Only thing annoying me is the fact that the trading post is down, hopefully this will be fixed soon.

One concern I have found is this

I understand that our levels are supposed to be leveled down when we go to a new low level area, however our equipment stats stay the same. I am finding my self tearing through mobs at lower levels(example I can kill 4 level 4 mobs when I am level 5 with no trouble at all) at a point where the game isn't fun. For short I feel as though we need to be tuned down in terms of equipment as well. Thie should make the game more enjoyable and more challenging.

It's less for downleveling purposes and more for upleveling purposes. For WvW your stats that are scaled up to 80 are based off your current stats with your armor on. So better armor means higher stats. And the same works for the reverse, when you're downleveled, you're considered to have better base stats for your better armor than you had at that level originally.

This might seem like an odd question, but hear me out. A lot of my friends have bought this and are playing it, and I'm quite interested. However, the sound on my pc is broken and I probably won't ever get round to fixing it, just wondering how much of the game I would be missing out on if I bought it. Are there subtitles for cutscenes? Would not having sound be a massive disadvantage? Odd question I know.

playing on and off, really enjoy the game and planning to WvW when I gear myself out. If anybody is already and/or planning to get 400 leatherwork please post here or PM me, will be needing several exotics crafted when I hit 80 ;P.

One thing I really don't like about GW2 atm is how poorly made cooking is, it's essentially a free ride from 60-70 or so at the cost of like 80 silver.

If you quote me please be sure to note that I'm extremely mad.

There are subtitles for cutscenes. But the sound is an important part of any game, it helps set the tone. Plus all the random discussions npcs have are voiced, which helps with immersion and etc.

Anyway i've been watching our WvW closely each day, it looks like we've finally found Jade Quarry's matchup based on the stats. It looks to be stormbluff isle/henge of denravi/Jade Quarry. Atleast my server can do good against henge when they step up. Apparently a big community on the server doesn't want to fight henge so they're throwing the games against them.

Anyway level 75 now, and i'll probably be level 80 by the end of today. With 400 tailoring.

Having never played the original, I decided to get this. It's pretty fun, but I have no idea what I'm doing half the time; I ought to get around to watching the tutorial or something.

I am, unfortunately, having frame rate issues. My framerate is acceptable (30ish, 25 when turning). I do not notice any difference when I switch all the settings to low, however. Can anyone help with this?

[spoiler=My PC]

Core 2 Quad Q8300 2.5GHz

4GB RAM

GTX 550 Ti 1GB

I know it's pretty outdated (the CPU), but it can run medium settings.
