200M in all Skills

I'd rather work for 10 hours, spending my earned money on spins and saving 150 hours of agility. But I guess most kids on RS don't even have a job because of age, social anxiety, fattyness, health, etc.

Then you still gotta have a job or something, cause I can't get a job anywhere ="D

It is still far beyond me why someone would spend real money on the game... even if you save time... it's one of the most dumb ways one can spend money.

Y0 blue spent 4k irl on divination, I'd imagine similar here.

Some people are efficient because the process of being efficient is enjoyable. Some people are efficient because it's a means to minimize time/money spent doing things they don't enjoy.

I do find the efficiency double standard here a bit concerning. Being efficient is praised here, but only within the confines of RS. If you're efficient both in RS and RL, you get bashed for it because it's taboo.

Would it be better if he instead spent 4k at the clubs?  People spend money on what they enjoy.....

^ya what peever said.  If someone works hard for their money, who cares what they do with it.  You make money to be happy and live a comfortable life, why should this be any different.  But tbh Yo Blue was rich in game so i dont think it was irl money.  Ive heard he has bils and bils and bils

I've always shared the same mindset when it comes to buyable exp.

If you absolutely despised training agility, then why not spend 10 hours working to buy 40 hours of agility (random number). Sure, you can say "it's a game, don't train it if you don't want to", but there are vastly different goals out there that push you to train those unwanted skills.

This however, doesn't mean I support the key buying system. I absolutely despise having exp buyable in the game, but you won't see me blaming anyone for taking advantage of it. The real blame lies with Jagex for giving a way to cheat the system, not the people who are smart enough (yes, smart) to take advantage and save themselves the hassle.

He told me he spent 2.8b on bonds, bought 200 of something (keys i think?) off the new SoF system with rl cash that I don't understand, and got 100 free. Idk how the system works atm, but ye that's what he told me anyway.

He clearly is spending IRL gp on something he doesn't enjoy.

It is my personal opinion that someone must value real life pretty low to stoop down to paying $4,000 for virtual exp. I know that you compare spending 4k on clubs vs. 4k on exp but that's not a fair assumption to make. You can far better improve your life with 4k than spending it on Runescape. I completely understand using in game gp to buy bonds and keys because in most cases - you worked for the gp and therefore spent it on something you deemed more efficient.

Once you start spending real money on experience or gp, that's crossing the line for me and in my opionon I would advise you to quit because if you need to buy it, you're not actually enjoying it as it you should. Play the game for what it is.

I imagine you think just as lowly as all of the "legitimate" grinders in this thread then too? Surely they must value real life pretty low as well to stoop down to spending 10+ hours a day on a video game, right? You can far better improve your life by spending 10+ hours/day on RL goals instead of RS goals.

So you're saying it's ok to spend your gp on anything because you worked hard for it... but it's not ok to spend your RL money on anything despite working hard for it?

Well lets be honest, no one here respects some one who spent real life money for xp over someone who actually trained the skill.

Whats being argued is should they lose respect for spending money on a game, which i dont think you should lose respect for some one over how they spend there money, especially if its for something they enjoy.

But ya, i think as an actual skiller Yo Blue isn't as respected as someone who actually got 200m div legit, but he knows that when he makes his decision and honestly i think he likes trolling and getting this kind of reaction.

He tells people he used all in game gp on bonds, then others it was irl money, then some 50/50, then he keeps doing it and stuff knowing it will get a reaction out of people.  At the end of the day hes having fun with it

I too wish to sit here and post judgemental remarks about how people wish to spend their money IRL and determine their life status based on such decisions.

I hold someone who consistently spends dozens of hours per day on RS in the same regard as someone who consistently spends lots of money on RS. If the person spending RL money is being more efficient than the person "legitimately" training, then I'd consider the person spending RL money to be much more intelligent. Working hard is for people who don't know how to work smart (and no, those two traits are not mutually exclusive; they synergize quite well, actually).

If they enjoy what they're doing-- whether it's buying XP or grinding it, that's awesome. If they don't enjoy what they're doing, they should probably take a break to reevaluate their priorities.

Guys, we're done discussing this now. On one hand, you have no right to judge how anyone spends their money. On the other hand, you have no right to judge how anyone spends their time. Actually, you have no right to judge how anyone spends their anything*. Until one of you acquires this right, and I can assure you, you won't, we have no business debating what is or is not 'proper' or 'good' in any scenario.

Incidentally, this argument is one reason I am in favour of a strict irl gp/game separation. If you want to discuss that, feel free to make a new topic.

I think we all have the right to judge someone negatively if they bot their skills. If you accept that as true, then this isn't really any different.

I dunno, he used up the crapton of Div bonus he got from his previous 15k spins, though I guess that's more afkable, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him get high gains.
