Latinoking Posted September 11, 2009 Share Posted September 11, 2009 BTW to the earlier poster about Rich Rod. He's a damn good coach and i HATE that Clemson let him get away before he went to WVU. We never made an offer to keep him, what a mistake. Problem with Michigan is not the coaching staff, its the lack of athletes to run Rich Rod's offensive schemes. Give him time to recruit (great recruiter) and you should see a scary Michigan. I agree, that when he has all his players (or more) he will finally get his spread offense going, but I wished he would just add a pro style to his offense. That's a big reason why Terrelle Pryor chose OSU over Michigan. I've loved the recruiting so far though. He will always get his players though, it's Michigan! I'm not so sure. You can't go much bigger. And in this time period, not many schools want to pay top dollar for coaches. You gotta have a very large fan base and very generous donors/alums to get that. Michigan has that, he just has to get the program rolling. WVU does not have it like Michigan does. I'd move for more money too, can't blame him. Yeah you can't get much bigger than Michigan. The college with the most wins ever! All he has to do is beat the Buckeyes every year and the donors/alums will love him. I'm looking foward to the Ohio state/USC game. I got USC winning, but I bet Ohio keeps it closer the what people are thinking. I hope the Buckeyes choke, and that freshman QB (Matt Barkley) can come up big. Oh well, we took a VERY VERY good #15 GT team to the wire and played good the second half. I hate that we lost but glad we are working out the kinks at the start of the season. We should be fine down the stretch. That really was another instant classic ACC matchup, it's like I said in an erlier post, this is why I LOVE the ACC. Every team can beat every other team. But I was really impressed by the Tigers not just laying down after GT got up 24-0, they made some great quick-strikes, they have some talented players, and by talented I mean incredibly fast lol. It really must of been a heart breaker for you the way it ended, but overall another exciting game out of the ACC. Oh and that fake kick was just ridiculous.. I kind of lol'd when i saw it. USC came off with a big win for the Pac-10. It was fairly dull. The only really excited bits for me was the first 5 minutes when USC made their first TD and the last 5 minutes where they got their second. Do they have SC home or away..? You know a few years back when OSU played Florida for the NT I hated them, I really did. I thought they were totally undeserving to be there and just a program I hated. But these last few years I have grown to sort of like OSU, I mean I can't imagen the pain of being a Buckeye fan. These last few years have just been AWFUL for them, 2 lost title games, no bowl victories, and I REALLY pulled for them last year Vs. Texas. I was honestly depressed to see USC score so late and win the game, it was almost like watching my Tide loose the SEC title last year(ALMOST). For once in a USC victory I feel like the best team lost, I really think OSU had a better team, it was just dumb mistakes that cost them the game. Regardless I guess I'm rambling, I'm really happy to see our star recruit Trent Richardson come out and play like an absolute BEAST, I think 120+ yard rushing with 2 TD's, amazing. Not to mention Greg McElroy set an Alabama record with 14 straight completions, I am so excited about this years team. If it wasn't for UF i would feel confident to say we're going to the NT, but even for Florida that's a dumb statement to make this early. I am really pleased with these first 2 weeks, the big games havn't been that exciting but leave it to the ACC to give us 2 classics in a week. Anyways I'm glad to see this thread is staying alive, good to know I'm not the only NCAA Football fan on these forums, keep it up guys :thumbsup: . It's like i said in an erlier post, I don't know how in the hell they were ranked #13. Regardless though unless they beat the Longhorns their season is going to pretty much be a bust. They have a good shot at beating the long horns. Dez Bryant is arguably the best wide reciever in college football, and OKS has a competitive defense. If they can get pressure on Colt Mccoy I think they can win the ball game...on the the other hand they did get beat by Houston. I actually read an interesting article on the Big-10 erlier today, http://espn.go.com/blog/bigten/post/_/id/3711/whats-best-for-ohio-state-and-the-big-ten-2 It's about how the Big-10 needs to improve their rep in a smart way, schedule more mid-sized and semi-large programs that they can actually beat. It also talks about them maybe not even playing in the Rose Bowl. I mean being honest the Rose Bowl has just been an embarrassment for the Big-10 over the last decade, every year their rep just takes a punch to the ribs. But I guess that isn't going to happen due to the tradition of the Rose Bowl. Anyways I just thought that was an interesting way to look at things, good article. However, the game last Saturday was my first as a student and probably the best live game I've ever seen. Beat Arkansas!
