Hi there! Well I haven't posted anything in a while and today I decided to make my website again, a whole new version actually.

I designed this today:

So, first of all I would like to have some feedback on the design. I decided to keep my current color scheme. So other than that :D

 

 

 

Second, I would need help finishing it. I have mostly made it in Fireworks, so I would need to help to get the text right in it. I have everything else working properly (including the twitter box, omg), but I'm having difficulties to make the text on the box.

Few things I noticed on your old one:

 

 

 

- Linking to DevART seems like a kind of bad idea, personally. Not only does the user have to actually use their browsers back function to get back to your site but it really just kind of detracts from it all.

 

 

 

- The left justification is pretty annoying on my widescreen monitor, forcing me to turn and keep my head all the way to the left, instead of comfortably in the center of the screen. The layout width is just too small to justify like that well.

 

 

 

- I'm half and half on the background, not sure if I like it or not really.

 

 

 

- I would try and have it so that you always have the links to the 4 different parts (home/about/work/contact) on each page, instead of just a small "back to homepage" thing in the upper left.

 

 

 

- The frames are ickyickyickyickyickyickyicky. Yeah, they're bad and I would get rid of them ASAP!

 

 

 

My advice for the new one:

 

 

 

- I would try and maybe stick away from the little vector circles in the background. They look a little tacky.

 

- The off centered links is a cool idea, but I don't know how practical it is. Probably not a big deal though.

 

- Make sure all your text is not Anti-Alised (learned this tip from someone else), since you will eventually need to have that anyways for your site.

 

- I like the twitter thing, it's a neat idea to have.

The previous site was pretty much a quick test run that I have used a tad too long :D That's why I didn't really focus on the coding. And that's why it was linked to deviantART. But thanks for the comments :)

 

 

 

And Pat, Yuck is still going on. We have just had a minor break, as I worked the whole summer at Finnish Broadcasting Company and now I have just started high school. I will be updating more about that later :

I really like your design. It looks like it suits well your website, only tweak I would do would be very small; on the corners of the box where all the text is, try to round it a littler bit ands put a ''almost-invisible'' fade to it. But that is just my opinion.
