TWR Beef gone bad?

Recently the beef has been rising between some twr clans. Mainly coming down to 2-3 clans vs 1-2 beef wise. At first it wasn't too bad but now it seems the beef is srs business.

This mad beef has resulted in the first ever mod intervention using the TWR House rules. [ If I'm wrong then my bad ]

 

I'm tired of this, this is absolutely ridiculous.

 

House rules Sunday November 15th 3 est. Locking this topic.

 

Mini-war: 20 vs 20

Clan-Wars Classic

Centrebounds (wall to wall)

Rings allowed

No blasts

Binds allowed

Range allowed

Only those who appear on a clan's member-list may participate:

Runehead locks 48 hours prior to the war

Clan with fewer people attacks first

Any breach of the agreed rules should be indicated to TWR staff who will decide whether to disqualify a clan (proof will be required).

 

EDIT: Changed to Sunday the 15th at 3 est.

 

I don't care if the timing isn't ideal for either clan, its house rules so you only need 20 people. This type of blatant flaming and absolute refusal to negotiate leads to something like this, where both clans are stuck in a situation neither like.

 

Try actually being reasonable next time and we can avoid this.

I think that it could have been a lil sooner on that topic. But for the most part the mods sit back and let us figure it out and intervene when asked/needed.

Yes.

 

3. What impact will this have on the TWR Overall?

Community might look bad and turn into a mini RSC...But that's the only worst case scenario I could think of. Doubt it will get to that point. [ Let's hope not ]

They might if 2-3 more instances happen again.

 

5. Will clans caught up in the beef be effected?

DV claimed to have 'Black Listed' DF so that could affect them, not much of an affect but there's possibly some more things that could happen.

Yes, Beef is juicy and who wouldn't want to bite in?

I can be more positive/ un-biased to the situation or not post at all.

If people would remain more open minded they would find everything is a lot easier. Mods are always available via PM and the Report Abuse feature is a much better option than replying. We try to practice a more lenient moderation style but step in when needed. If people would keep cool and ignore it and just report it instead a lot of problems would be avoided.

I know this involves me and my clan, but recently we've been better than before, we weren't racist at all before any accusations come our way.

I think mods intervened just in time. The racism was 1 step too far and the mods dealt with the issues in the best manner.

No, it'll settle down lol.

It won't affect TWR, but it could impact how other clans and people see us as a community.

Only they know this, I think they will though, although preventing beef is like preventing a rivalry, which is impossible.

There's certainly a possibility, but not too much in my opinion.

Well even when it's not concerning my clan people try to mention us and bait us so I sometimes do, but not as much as I used too as I have just been reporting the topics instead.

Report topics to moderators if it gets out of control (which I've already been doing and would like to see others doing instead of replying).

I like what Jc said about what he can do to prevent it. Good answers soo far except for joe giving me a wall of text which I WILL NOT READ. Lol jk good answer by Joe staying open minded can be hard though. People get hungry for points and also need to keep their clan happy and not drop people, but at the same time dropping people drives people to train their combat which ultimatly helps your clan. Or they leave which is also good because you don't need unloyal kids who complain about being dropped. [ But to be fair some do get dropepd A LOT but l2Tank/Train :P ]

3. What impact will this have on the TWR Overall? Honestly, I think it's healthy. Sure TWR is a great community but we are people, people have issues inrl otherwise there wouldn't be wars. I reprimand anyone that gets into real life talk or threats, but I have yet to receive proof; so I can't do anything till then. Beef on a game all together really doesn't bother me, and I don't know how seriously I can take it. I've had several occasions where DF has had issues with people saying horrible things in game and made videos of us on Youtube yet the TWR mods couldn't do anything about that; even after they viewed the material. So I don't see how it even matters in all honesty. Sure if it gets out of hand it should stop, but there is a difference between stating the facts and truth and straight up flame broiled beef.

5. Will clans caught up in the beef be effected? Not really. Being black listed by DV doesn't do much for us. I mean we can still hit them whenever they have PVP trips, so no harm done for us. Just more motivation to stop what we're doing and have a PVP trip.

If i read some stuff that is completely ignorant or irrelevant, or just a straight up BS then I'll put in the facts. I will not flame; I'll just give my opinion/facts/prior knowledge on the given topic.

 

 

7. What can you do to prevent beef getting worse than it needs to be? As I stated before with proof I'll deal with any flames comments. If its straight up facts. Don't bother me, as its not beef its history.

To what dan said about stating opions/facts If I'm going to get into the flame war I try and state facts but they can sometimes be opinions and to the other side they may look wrong/ flameish. Plus we add in our opinions sorta with our facts which results into flames I suppose.

~Imo a little to early.. i think removing spam/flames and possibly a warning could of been issued before closure.

~Prob not.... i think most of this was caused by a hacking of a site.... a warning has been issued to members... however STATEMENTS such as "multi-clanning"... well, thats the truth if were talking about the clan that was declared on.

~It shouldnt have much.... if not positive.. i always think drama appeals to a lot of ppl and possibly a good rivalry in the making.. although downfall is blacklasted it seems :P

~they shouldnt as long as nothing serious is taking place... if someone feels threatened or flaming/baiting has absolutely gotten out of control i feel like moderation should take place... ~Tbh.. i dont see this as a "HUGE" ordeal... i find hacking sites much more serious than debate on forums (mild flaming/baiting).. strikes will be given to DF members if the severity of the offense is found threatining or overboard.

My thoughts:

 

1.Here is a solution i can make about both clans... like dv beat t0 and we got tons of trolls and flames(t0 gave us clean fight and i m happy for that :razz: ) basically we could prevent by giving more positive remarks than rather negative remarks...

 

2.Also about us flooding the ts of t0(DV didnt do it u even have a proof of derek(leader of dk) flooding the ts so there should be no flames about dv flooding ts of t0 and making dv win...(this has to do with t0 and dk not DV)

 

3.Lets go to multiclanner section atm we r trying our best to work this multiclanning thing out... so plzz dont flame we r trying our best to work this multiclanning things out insided dv...

 

4.now lets go with the flames with dv and df basically , i no that it started from both clans and i no the last remark that a downfall member made was a racist remark... I;ve talked with some high ranks about flames from downfall and dv flames... and i suppose Downfall has made a new rule about strike system(i bet downfall mems no about it) And dv is doing the same thing to prevent this flames and trolls...

 

5.Now lets move up to non downfall mems and non divine vindicators mem... I suppose some ppl from other clans are also flaming divine vindicators as well. All u guys gotta do is give positive remarks u dont have to be all rude and say bad things about the clan. u can say "hey nice job too bad dv lost the war" or something like that.

It's best for the TWR mods to let discussions go their own path, even when they heat up, but when nothing is clearly being accomplished, that's when mods step in.

The beef got to a point where irl flames took place / Racism. Have fun with you're racism flames :S?

 

I'm not implying you to become friends just asking a few Q's to recent events, DF has made some points and said that it shouldn't have been closed, and DV has some points in why it should be closed.

 

Enjoy your racism bracelets...there's a fine line between rivalry and hatred beef. This includes hacking/ddosing/irl threats/racsim and some other stuff im prolly forgetting. You may not see it because the mods delete it but it has happened.
