cookiestealer222
I am sure everyone at some point in playing Runescape has heard the lines: (In response to being called a noob) "This not my main""Im goin to get my main and kick your cabbage" or maybe even the claim they have a party hat set on their other account. Now, I know many players will create a separate account for combat as long their accounts don't "interact." There are also the few who go for titles like lowest level with fire cape. However, I have no idea why people make accounts just for skills. I recall an old friend who made a separate account to just woodcut. Why not spend all your time on one account? This isn't Diablo where new builds are always exciting. Staking is gone, so why do you/others create new accounts?

Daveh
Well, to be honest it's usually just a lie by person A to make person B think higher of person A. I once had a friend who claimed to be Casserole; when she was #4 overall.
Xx_Flare_xX
The same reasn why people make pures and PKers instead of just training their mains. for fun. nerdboyxxx
Happened to me when my main (nerdboyxxx) was hacked for a brief period. I was playing on my noob, minding my own business and some idiot goes "Noob, I am Zezima". Of course he was only level 43, and during that time it was obvious Zezima had quit. After telling him this, he said "Well I lost the password". :XD:
Obtaurian
Some people, like Villandra, just want to do something challenging that they feel they can't do on their main accounts. Personally, I'd rather build up my levels and experience on one account, but I can see why people would make multiples. To put it bluntly, [bleep] off. Emmentail
There isn't a point. It's a "challenge" that people set themselves, to accomplish high "skills" without using combat. They then complain when Jagex make updates that they can't participate in, see Agility Armour and new 1000+ worlds. A skiller is someone who trains all skills, since combat is a skill in itself. They should really call themselves "people who chose to pay for the game (in the case of p2p 'skillers') and then ignore a massive portion of it". Tim
Because people are morons.[Throws into the pit of eternal damnation.] Simple-Minded players... Most players (myself included) liek to try a different style of playing, both for curiosity and also a challenge. and bloody hell, how do people use these effing laptops, my grammar fails with it. elucin8er
Wow, dumbest post I've ever read. People actually play this game for fun, believe it or not. And this is fun for them, attempting to skill at such a low level. Not everyone is like yourself where they strive for ultimate total goals. They give themseleves fun challenging goals, for FUN. Mdeoxys
Personally I don't see the fun in training another account just for the skills.I'd rather train a skill I like on my 'main' than on a pure account. But on the other hand I can see why people enjoy training new accounts since you can get level way faster. Which is, for some people, a good way of enjoyment. :) Proud (retired) Tip.it Times Editor! Mazhar
Either they do it for fun, which most don't (unless 99 cooking is exciting), or they do it because they try to impress others. Though, i'd be more impressed to see a level 40 with steel titan and no other 99s then a level 3 maxed out skiller
Fools_Taco
9 times out of 10 the "this is not my main" is a total lie. If you ask them who their main is they just give the name of some high level account on high scores. I just call them on it and tell them to log into that account then and come prove it. They never do. Personally i think anyone who has leveled an account past 2100 total would have to be a total sadist to start another account. Maybe im crazy. Ezz
I've never really understood this either. But oh well, whatever floats their boat. This game is made for fun, and if they think it's fun to play it that way, then so be it :) [insert birds flying in a circle here]Yes, that sig was annoying. I once did that and they actualy did go and get their real main. It was kinda funny actualy. I don't really get it either. I mean, yeah I have a second account. I made it for nostalgia purposes though. To see what my first few hours would have been like if I had known what I know now. Maybe I will do all the free quests on it one day too, but that is a small ammount of time and effort compared to my main. I figure, if I am going to put my time into making a charecter better, it migth as well be the charecter I use that I focus on. I don't really enjoy training, I just kinda enjoy the game. I would never play if there weren't chat since thats what keeps me going when I train. And I train mostly to do quests, or as justification for not trainging skills I hate that I need for a quest (for example I would rather get 99 wc'ing and a few ravens then train herblore and farming to 63 for WGS, and will let the penguin points do most of the work). Bauke
People think crippling themselves gives them extra respect. Usually, those level 3 skillers only have easy 99s. I reckon they quit after they get 99 cooking, since it's a ridiculous way to train skills. Some people claim they like the challenge that being level 3 brings. Though that always makes me wonder why they haven't gotten all skills at 99 and beyond on their main. Myweponsg00d
Why do anything? Why spend your time on Runescape when you could spend all your time teaching yourself new things IRL? Why do you buy different clothes instead of 50 of your favorite outfit? People want to. Need assistance in any of these skills? Yohbilleh
I'll tell you what IS stupid. A long time ago, one of my friends started a new account for each seperate skill. And then he had a main, too.
Emmentail
Why do you buy different clothes instead of 50 of your favorite outfit? 3hitm4g3u
Because some skillers are awesome and you get the 9234567543 people who want to emulate that skiller. I was very impressed seeing a level 3 with a slayer cape, more so than I would be seeing a level 138 with one. Same goes for skills like mining, runecrafting, herblore etc.
