Absolutely no interaction options but obviously steps leading into a cave. I've been here a few times (admittedly not recently) and have not seen it before, and my memory isn't good so I don't know if it was part of WGS. I don't think it was. Trust the Gene Genie! Though you do not actually see him use it in the cutscene, the quest log says it is where he came from.
