I definately agree with the first article, the strain on Jagex seems to have been lessened.

As for the second article:

The first article was very good, if we look closely enough, BTS never left, it was just hiding <_<
As for the second one, i play runescape also because of the community, and boss monsters. The last reason is the earliest, and i got addicted to them when i started going Rex with my good Friend DJslayer, now i go to masses and td's, and i am saving for 79 summoning first and a gs second, otherwise near none chat will let me join

Also, fictional title?

3rd post gf yall. Anyways, i found the 1st article quite boring, but the 2nd one really interested me. This is because I also play runescape because I'm curious about future game content. However, some people say they dont even like the game, but they play it. I like playing Runescape, I like the sense of accomplishment I get from levelling up. I was always a fan of role playing games, and this one has become my favorite because it NEVER ENDS.

First Article
Well written and easy to read like Racheya's articles always are. I actually prefer this new form. It rewards players that look around to fansites and the RSOF, and also the players that are intelligent to break difficult codes. They still give us plenty of warning when updates are coming, but now it seems that they are saying more then just "New slayer master this week". This type of cryptic clue formats is what makes Jagex's new approach at the game so interesting.
Second Article
I play mostly for the community. I have a great group of people that I talk to regularily and would genuinly miss them if I quit (I miss N8myton!!!!!!). Also, as a player moderator, I have a significant roll in the community. I regularily just sit at the GE and have unofficial Q&A's with players. I enjoy it. Also, the challenge of finding new and intersting ways to raise my skills keeps me hooked when the community is acting more nooby then usual. Plus, I love my cash pile
Did You Know
Actually a DYK that I never knew before. That is quite handy actually for skills that involve alot of banking.

I definately agree with the first article, the strain on Jagex seems to have been lessened.

As for the second article:

Boredom.

My thoughts exactly on both articles.

I did like knowing every update for the coming month, but when developers are that pressured, apparently all they can come up with is crap like Vinesweeper.

The first article makes a very good point. A lot of people said that Jagex was "making things too easy on themselves" by getting rid of BTS, but they probably don't realize how atypical it was for a software company to so specifically promise content updates on such a tight schedule. What's amazing is how well they did adhering to that for so many years, even though all they got for it was a sense of expectation and lots of whining when they had to delay something.

As for the second article: it's hard to write a piece that people will relate to when you use the word "I" 49 times and the word "you" only once.

Firstly, I must say that these were articles were very well written, for the most part, and the writer's themselves were very good at formatting the material in a good way.
Secondly, the content of both articles were, for lack of a better word, boring.

The majority of the first article was simply telling readers obvious information that the majority of this community already knows. The subject matter was just as interesting in the first paragraph as it was in the last. Reading the article was like the end of a bad date; you're just laying there dissapointed. Not great material. Now, I must say that this isn't particularly the writer's fault. They did a pretty good job of putting in examples, adding a hint of humor, ect - but overall the very core of the article was boring; and that is hard to work with. So I'm not blaming the writer for a bad article...I'm blaming the subject of it.

The second article started out with the author describing his past with RuneScape. Usually hearing about someone's past times on RS can be very entertaining and fun to read, but again, the subject matter was quite dull. He did a good job closing out the article in the end and the final paragraphs really left you feeling like that was a good article....until you go back and read the beginning again. The idea is a great idea (why do we play and such) but the idea along with the other ideas put into the article weren't orchestrated all that well.

Again, fantastic writers, but a lousy Time's this week.

As for the second article: it's hard to write a piece that people will relate to when you use the word "I" 49 times and the word "you" only once.

Wonderfully said.

First article was decent, second one was a bit too much I and I couldn't really get into it.

I would like to add one more thing for the DYK: You can also click a destination on your minimap. The bank will close and your character will run to there. Very useful for decanting pots.

First article:
"Of course Jagex like to [...]".
Jagex is singluar. It likes to do things.

Second article:
"I met a person in draynor bank who would meeI quit for a decent period [...]"
... what?

I feel like there need to be a greater variety of topics written, or new opinions brought in. These articles seem to run together.

I have to disagree the BTS made Jagex put out a certain number of things in a month, there been a clear drop in quality and quantity since that "pressure" was taken away. Now they drop hints when ever they like with no time line for when whatever there hinting at needs to be out.

Second article: it's a really good point there. It's important that if you are bored or feel "finished" with RS or think everything is "pointless" that you take a break, perhaps leaving forever. Don't stick around while you aren't having fun.

I play Runescape because I find it pleasurable, but only in small doses. I don't grind skills but I do enjoy training them, even when I am sometimes F2P. For now I enjoy any F2P updates I get, and then just train magic when there is no new content.

I play it more now for the atmosphere and community then the actually pleasure of the game. Now that I think about it, I probably spend more time talking about Runescape on these forums then actually playing the game.

There has been a drop in quantity and a RISE in quality if you ask me. There has been a significant drop in the number of bugs in updates. Although for the first few months of 2009 there wasn't, now it's actually quite rare to find a major bug in their updates.

Other sorts of quality like 'if you like it or not' is just opinion.

And while the Chaos Elemental is quite unpredictable (as you should expect ;)), as are the Dev Blogs, you can rely on the Twitter hints to keep you in the know about what will be out this week. I wouldn't say that there is just no time line.

First article: I hated Behind the Scenes; I find the blogs to be written better, more personalised and slightly humorous (when they chuck in the odd joke or two, I usually crack a smile :)). I follow them on twitter but I'm absolutely hopeless at deciphering the cryptic clues they give us on next week's updates :P.

Second Article: I liked this. It was entertaining, could have been written better but nobody is perfect. I play because it kills time, and I find it fun. Yes, I find sitting in front of a computer screen powermining granite for hours on end entertaining. I find it as wierd as most of you probably do!

great stuff guys, please write more articles like this :D.

Second article:
"I met a person in draynor bank who would meeI quit for a decent period [...]"
... what?

Indeed. I read, and re-read, that sentence several times trying to decipher it before simply moving on (especially since the font the Tip.It Times is written in makes "meeI" look like "meel").

Both articles were otherwise well written and a good read. I agree with Rachya that the removal of the BTS feature and replacing it with the Developer's Diaries/Blogs was a good move by Jagex.
