SKATE BLOODZ wrote me a private message saying: Everything revolves around smithing!

That got him and I on a journey -- a journey to find something unrelated to smithing.

I will be dialogued either as Simons Twin or simply 'S' and SKATE BLOODS as 'M,' for his first name.

Attack

S: Attack has to do with smithing because it achieves different levels of weapons

M: and those weapons are smithed!

Prayer

M: What about prayer?

S: You make holy symbols out of steel bars, which is smithing.

M: OK, doesn't make too much sense, but that eliminates crafting from the list too

Combat (Overall)

M: What about the other combat stuff?

S: Well, excluding slayer they contribute to combat.

S: Combat is related to Attack, and Attack, as noted before, is connected.

Slayer: The Skill I Think Is Pointless

S: Slayer has nothing to do with smithing!

M: Yes it does

S: Oh right, because it is an add-on to combat, etc. But that's indirectly.

S: The only reason it's connected is because it has the same focus as combat: to kill monsters

This is only a taste of this, and more is prone to come. (I need to take a rest from this)

What about agility?

You're thinking way too far into this .I don't see how everything "revolves" around smithing.

I think a better one would be what doesn't revolve around PvP. Just a few examples:

All combat skills: Self explanatory.

Slayer: Whips and such.

Agility: Crystal bows, faster run regen.

Herblore: Potions

It might be fair to say that every skill is related to smithing (which I have no clue if they are) but they don't all revolve around smithing. There is quite a difference.

It's like Jagex designed all the skills to be.......related. Far out, man!

"cooking has iron spits"

so this means cooking revolves around smithng and without iron spits all cooking would stop

with this type of logic you could give me the first letter of the new skill, a-z and i could connect it to sailing

I agree with what everyone else has been saying- all the skills do not revolve around smithing; you can pretty much pick any skill and relate it to every other skill.

Range_This11 put it perfectly:

It's like Jagex designed all the skills to be.......related.

Arguing with a fool proves there are two.

It's Runesape, you are bound to find some relations between skills. It would be not very fun if every skill was only used by itself.

Isn't there a quest that requires you to light a furnace or something?

Cbow! Cbow!!!!! +120 range is orgasmic. Or maul, thats what I'd get out of those two options.

I agree with baconisbacon, Cbow looks freaking sensual

Yes but that's done with magic and firemaking, not smithing and firemaking.

Crafted from silver bars which are smelted first though right?

The Greatness that is the Tree Gnome Delivery minigame certainly does not revolve around smithing.

Nor does the epic quest, Romeo and Juliet, which offers no rewards outside of quest points and satisfaction.

ah! 6 degrease of seperation!

for thouse who dont know, there is a fact that with many many thing on 1 subjest / place / afect ect you can go from one thing to another in just 6 steps. noone knows if its true but its gona be hard to find something that does not folow this rule.

eg, 1 random person ANYWHERE on the planet will ofen be abel to sent a letter to a totaly unrelated person thay have no clue where/who he/she is, by sending it one person and then thay send it to another, 6 times.

anyway...

well without doing anything i can tell you anything that is used to make money or used in combat, can be used for smithing (try thinking of something that fits nither of thouse >:))

for now i will limit my self to 2 jumps.

Agility

smithed armour > being used to guard your self when training

or being able to run longer when smithing

Construction

clockwork

Cooking

to make food used in combat > combat can use smithed armour

Crafting

silver/gold

Farming

to make food used in combat > combat can use smithed armour

Firemaking

to make food used in combat > combat can use smithed armour

Fishing

to make food used in combat > combat can use smithed armour

Fletching

arrow heads

Herblore

to make potions used in combat > combat can use smithed armour

Hunter

to make food/items used in combat > combat can use smithed armour

Magic

combat can use smithed armour (people can and do mage in melee armour)

Mining

smithing pic / useing the ore for smithing

Prayer

holy/unholy simbol

Ranged

smithing arrow heads > used as range ammo

you could say thats 3 jumps becouse fletching could be put in there but idc.

Runecrafting

used for magic > mage is combat

Slayer

in order to slay (efectively) people need armour, and some of that armour is smithable

Smithing

umm, err. i dont know of how that could relate to smithing :P

Summoning

minotor second's

Thieving

i really dont know

Woodcutting

smithing axe's

...

all combat mini games can use smithed armour (sc counts)

also for barrows, the armour can be fixed with the smiting skill.

GOP lets you make runes > used for mage combat

MA can use smithed items as a comodity

kingdom management can used mineing to gain favour > mineing used for smithing

eh i cant be bothered to think anymore about this for now.

What a joke. All you're doing is being painstakingly ambiguous just so you can make a lame [wagon] similarity between said skills..

This sort of reminds me of the whole sailing-is-a-skill fiasco too, and that isn't necessarily a good thing

But you don't actually make a potion, nor do you actually get a useful potion, nor do you get herblore xp.

Haha..

Oh wait..You were serious, let me laugh even harder.

You "connections" as to why every skill revolves around smithing is laughable. All you're doing is making weak connections to try prove yourself right.
