No cake references in Portal 2, apparently Valve are sick of the jokes :P There's also going to be PS3/PC cross platform multiplayer which will be awesome :D

Found this gameplay video too, site is German but what little speech in the video is in English: http://videos.cynamite.de/v/TetolYSnywI/Portal-2/E3-Gameplay-Szenen-in-HD/

A multiplayer trailer has been released. It looks like fun :)

http://www.gametrailers.com/video/exclusive-co-op-portal-2/703300

Saw that on Valve's GTTV Brief.

It was hardly a trailer... more of a teaser to be honest.

But the colour coordination of Portals is quite good. My guess is that the Turret Bot will have Orange and Red portals.

Just thought I'd leave this here, since it's sort-of related.

Even if it's a dumb story, telling it changes other people just the slightest little bit, just as living the story changes me. An infinitesimal change. And that infinitesimal change ripples outward-ever smaller but everlasting. I will get forgotten, but the stories will last. And so we all matter-maybe less than a lot, but always more than none.

If that's an actual level I'll pee myself.

The only difference between Hitler and the man next door who comes home and beats his kids every day is circumstance. The intent is the same-- to harm others.

[hide=Tifers say the darndest things]

I told her there was a secret method to doing it - and there is - but my once nimble and agile fingers were unable to perform because I was under the influence.

I would laugh, not hate. I'm a male. :(

Since when was Ireland an island...? :wall:

I actually have a hobby of licking public toilet seats.

Marking the debut of Steam functioning on any next generation console, the features shipping in the PS3 version of Portal 2 include cross platform play (PC/Mac vs. PS3) for multiplayer games, persistent cloud-based storage of PS3 saved games, and cross platform chat (PC/Mac and PS3).

In addition, those who purchase Portal 2 for the PlayStation 3 may unlock a Steam Play (PC & Mac) copy of Portal 2 at no additional cost by linking their PSN and Steam accounts.

"We made a promise to gamers at E3 that Portal 2 for the PlayStation 3 would be the best console version of the product," said Gabe Newell, co-founder and president of Valve. "Working together with Sony we have identified a set of features we believe are very compelling to gamers. We hope to expand upon the foundation being laid in Portal 2 with more Steam features and functionality in DLC and future content releases."

"We designed the Portal 2 PS3 experience to be very straightforward for gamers," said Josh Weier, project lead on Portal 2 at Valve. "PS3 gamers will be able to simply drop the Blu-Ray disc in the PS3, link to their Steam account from inside the game, and all their Steam friends (on PC and Mac) will be visible and accessible for chat and game invites."

Everyone on Facepunch is like:

"BUY PS3 COPY

Think that'll work?

Personally, I don't like the way they're completely shunning Xbox entirely. Maybe it's Microsoft refusing Valve, but I think it's more to do with Sony offering a wad of cash. That's just me, though.

But anyway, I come bearing videos!

[hide=And this image too, which is rather stunning (See inside for somewhat of an explanation).]portal-2-20110113030451143.jpg

If you study the walls, you'll see that it's telling the story of Aperture Science. There is a panel on the left-hand side that you can't see that shows Scientists looking happy with GLaDOS, implying this is when they first installed her.

The second panel shows the same scientists screaming and choking, which shows GLaDOS killing everyone with the neurotoxins. Rat man is seen hiding behind a Companion Cube.

The third panel shows a suppressed GLaDOS, as shown by the red face - her eyes are closed because they isntalled the Morality core, meaning she was no longer able to do demoralizing acts. It also hints towards the end of the game, since Chell is approaching her (seemingly being lured by the Cake). Rat Man is seen in the background, holding a companion cube.

On the last panel, it shows Rat Man discovering a Portal Gun (presumably the one that is up on the 'shrine' in the room) with a seemingly unscathed GLaDOS in her Portal 2 form (notice GLaDOS' head is the same one from the trailer video) while Chell is on top - hinting that she was free, on the surface, above the madness of Aperture Science. Obviously, we know that she was pulled back by the Party Escort Bot.

The 5th panel, the one on the roof seemingly has no significance - it appears to be a Lunar Cycle that Rat Man may have observed considering there's a giant hole in the roof,[/hide]

[hide=Also seems like the beginning of the game will be very domesticated, yet grungy.]portal-2-20110113030524283.jpg[/hide]

Not sure really. I kind of wonder how it'll work.

As a PS3 owner my self I'll probably actually pick up the PS3 copy now. More likely I'll end up playing it through on the PC but maybe I can let someone else use the PS3 version or something :P.

Cross-platform connectivity is awesome. I'm so glad that Sony is letting Valve do stuff like this, it really is making it awesome.
