Quyneax
The defence potions are for hellhounds, for example. They tend to hit a bit (cannoning in the resource dungeon) and I tank them. More defence is also nice on LRC strikers and stuff. Animaslayer
There are only three shields a maxed player should carry, the Dragon Defender, the Zamorak (unholy) Book, and the Dragonfire Shield. There's really no substitute for the Rune Defender, as its unique blend of offense and defense (+19 to stab) makes it invaluable. There is a line of succession for defensive shields, though, and it goes Dragonfire Shield > Blessed Spirit Shield > Toktz-ket-xil (for range defence)/Dragon Sq Shield (for melee defence) > Granite Shield. Honestly, however, the Dragonfire Shield is a waste of money if you don't have lots of it. The Rune Defender excels on most tasks. You only use the DFS on five Kuradal tasks anyway (Iron, Steel, and Mithril Dragons as well as Skeletal Wyverns, and Blue Dragons and Super Antifires make 3 of those immaterial). 4 of those tasks are fairly commonly blocked. Black Dragons don't count as most players opt for the baby variety. also many rune defender notes in the monster sections, since you included dragon defender thought you should know, also there were too many posted images for me to count Dragon Drops: Platelegs x9, Med Helms x7, Plateskirts x4, Shield Left Half x3, At least 75+ Boots!, Hatchets x5, Ruined Shard x1, Solo Claws x2, Dragon 2Hander x1, Spear x2Whip x27, Dark Bows x9, Draconic Visage x1 <- do that when you see me :P
JacTise69
There is only one shield a maxed player should carry, the Dragon Defender. fixed Maxed players have super anti-fires and turmoil so DFS is never needed. A zammy book maybe if you've a fetish for range slaying but even then in most scenarios void + deflector (ACP) is going to be at least competitive if not better. Quyneax
You could also include some of Vex' figures on powerslaying, and imo powerslaying should be considered the baseline of slaying (save cannon perhaps). aerendil
This is a very good guide, one of the best I have seen in a while. I would advise on a few things however: #1: try and get a yak, they really change alot of the details of slayer, and revolutionize certain tasks (especially dragons).#2: Try fiddling with maul, if you have one, it can be pretty effected on certain tasks (especially waterfiends!)#3: In regards to steel titan, you will find, that after the monster in question gets above a certain lvl, steel titan become useless, totally useless (but only above lvl 200+ which isn't really any slayer monsters in multi, save dks :P )#4: Greater demons, these babies, imo, should be CANNONED. Yes, cannoned, in forthiny dungeon. Bring shizzle to tank, and DO NOT bring high risk (if you cannon hits someones familiar, you get a nice pretty skull)Pray melee+item prot+turmoil at all times, and dhide is advisable for mage defence against teams. Be ready to tab/glory/run at any point. There is potentially for nearly 600 kills per hr here, provided you dont get owned by teams, so this is best done at night -.- .#5: Bring Defence potions, they help for a few tasks where monsters are inflicting lots of damage. thats all I can think of atm, pm me if you have any questions :P
Quyneax
Berserker costs one point per 18 seconds - 200 per hour or about 6-7 doses of pray pot (before prayer bonus, so say, a full pot). It also saves you from repotting once (one dose of extreme attack and strength, possibly defence) per hour. I don't think it's really worth it, personally. And of course it's no good with overloads. Good point. I'll do some calcs on this but I'll probably change it. @aerendil 1) Yaks come up a LOT more in my special tasks. I've had plenty of experience using a Yak but I can't say how on this forum.2) Maul is only good on waterfiends. Otherwise, it's just too slow.3) Steel Titans are still pretty good on any multicombat task. Unless you hit like 1200+ at dart speed, Steel Titans are going to be useful.4) Will include.5) Such as? Salad
Good guide for higher level slayers, but I highly disagree with blocking Warped Tortoises. Warped Tortoises gives me a lot of experience when I'm not on task, provides good drops, and you can cannon them. While cannon might not be needed, you can easily get 70k+ melee exp per hour when not on task, so on task you could probably get much more. You can also piety/turmoil without even needing prayer potions by using the Ardougne cloak, teleporting to the monastery, and running to the nearby spirit tree. Quyneax
70k melee xp.... is slower than... waterfiends... aargh. Why would you teleport to an altar when you are cannoning? Might as well spend the money on pray pots and leave out the cannon, will be much faster. In the end torts only have two spawns. Depending on the monster you need 3-10 spawns to keep you buys (sometimes even more). Torts also have no drops. Might as well spend the money on pray pots and leave out the cannon, will be much faster. In the end torts only have two spawns. Depending on the monster you need 3-10 spawns to keep you buys (sometimes even more). Torts also have no drops. The experience rate is a rough estimate, and as I said, that's when not on a task, without maxed skills. I've seen many players efficiently cannoning them, and I never said to mix cannoning with the altar. You should or cannon them or use the altar. Also, torts having no drops is completely false. While the charm rate might not be high for some users, others might find the cash worthy rewards interesting. It is not rare to receive 1, 2 or 3 tortoise shell, which are currently going for 14k each. They also drop rune warhammers and rune pickaxes which are not rare, as well as swamp tar and noted mithril and coal which quickly adds up. They die incredibly fast, and a cannon would speed up the task even more. From personal experience, you can easily profit when cannoning these. I'm no specialist in high end slayering, and this was just my opinion as well as suggestions,
Quyneax
Well unfortunately there is something with quick kills - you need quick spawns, and lots of them. With only two spawns available, torts are simply too slow to be of any use.
