Picking up gold charms?

Is it worth picking up gold charms after you're past 80? Only crims and blues are used for training at that point, and greens are used to make uni and other USEFUL summons which gold charms lack. Seems like a waste of time and effort to pick up hundreds of gold charms that you're never gonna use, since there's nothing worthwhile to make with it. If you'd just buy from GE the odd puch that you'd might need you could save a lot of time.

A setup to cannon bloodvelds. Is it prayer gear that's best? Do you need any food at all?

You can cannon both Mutated and regular Bloodvelds, but Mutated Bloodvelds give way more xp.

Wear prayer armour, pray melee, place your cannon and rip 'em. Oh, and use a combat familiar.

IS there a difference? As far as i know, you can only cannon mutated ones anyway. Which one's better?

Yes there is since the room just near the mutated is filled with regular ones and both rooms are cannonable.

Mutated are better xp and see other post for gear/invo.

Oh baby light the dark side...

Pick em up.

No use for training, but that doesnt magically make terrorbirds and war torts useless

You can buy them in G.E.

If you really want to make your own, you can just go out and get some gold charms. It's not likely that you're going to need 1-2k torts all of a sudden.

There's no reason to not pick them up if you have space, because you ALWAYS should use your gold charms while training. The arguable exception is past 99, at which point if you want more xp you're probably not going to want to make golds.

We'll say you are level 80 summoning and have 1k gold charms. Here's why golds are always worth making:

1k Barker Toads: 87k xp, -91k gp, 15 minutes.

If you don't use golds, you'd have to get more crimsons. 87k xp is 267 crimson charms. That would take you 2.67 hours camping waterfiends in the waterfall.

267 Granite Lobsters: 87k xp, -406k, 160 minutes hunting + 4 minutes pouch making.

Granite lobsters cost you 315k and 149 minutes over golds. No benefit.

By the way it turns out greens are still worth making as well.

I stopped picking up golds and greens after 88 because I'm in no rush to get any higher right now. If I was shooting for some level I would but right now I'm really not so I don't bother with them.

I pick up greens, because I can make a unicorn outta them. Something useful. Might stop one of these days. I also pick up golds and greens when I burst rock lobsters. Not entirely sure why.

Most of the time I ignore golds though. If I'm going for charms, I find anything less then bursting/barraging rock lobsters too slow. At least since 85 summon, which I got on the exp weekend.

Squab unleashes Megiddo! Completed all quests and hard diaries. 75+ Skiller. (At one point.) 2000+ total. 99 Magic.

my difinition of noob is i dont like u, either u are better then me or u are worst them me

Buying spins make you a bad person...don't do it. It's like buying nukes for North Korea.

Well if it bothers you that the game is more fun now, then you can go cry in a corner. :shame:

your article was the equivalent of a circumcized porcupine

The only thing wrong with it is the lack of a percentage for when you need to stroke it.

They stack, so why not pick them up. You never know when you will have so much gp that you want to go for like top 100 or front page in the skill. Not that gold are the best choice but may still come in handy.

That argument made no sense. Do the gold charms magically appear in your bank for you?

It takes me about 3 months to build a house from scratch. But making toast! I gotta grow the wheat, harvest it, process it, bake a loaf of bread, cut it up, then toast it. That takes about a year. Making toast takes way too long compared to building a house.

No, what bladewing is saying that in the time you collected those 1k gold charms through slaying you would have saved 2.67 hours if you didn't pick them up later on when you started to actually use up the charms. You also lose more money as you have to make the more expensive pouch and spend almost 3 hours collecting those charms
