Healing familiars are generally ineffective

I don't agree.. even the mushrooms and potatoes become decent healers in between fights with one of these (I have the lvl 89 -adept skinweaver- with me if possible) by your side. And guess what, the healers even fight which always help a little...

With 99 Summoning, I've found that the 6,000 LP worth of Salve Eels on the highest Beast of Burden far surpasses the healing I'd get from the highest Healing Familiar during the boss fight. Throughout the dungeon it might be better, but I always have excess food at the end so the Beast of Burden feels more useful...

[/hide]

About that, which one is the BoB? I got no idea =P [/noob]

Adept worldbearer is a high level BoB, that's as much as I know. Requires megaleather bag as a 2ndary

Ah, so that's what those bags are for.

good to hear

48-40 dungeoneering was a scary sight indeed, more than halved my dungeon xp

I'll take this chance to ask, what's the secret to levelling that fast? Do you reset your prestige or what? Details if you can :)

I really don't see what's so hard with the prestige: only reset it once all the levels you can access have been completed. That means they have a tick next to them. Then, once you do reset (if no new levels have been unlocked by you cashing in your tokens for exp, if that's what you desire), you start from level 1 again. Do level 1 first, because each level you complete gradually raises your prestige, thus you gain more exp faster.

Levelling fast as far as i know: soloing complexity 6 is fastest. Open the bonus rooms, go in and out directly unless you need food. Don't kill unless you need food: you shouldn't be doing any skilling in any of the dungeons if you have a weapon and arrows bound. If possible, bind a promethean spear (for crush / slash / stab attacks). Once you start a level, be sure to buy a hammer, a pickaxe, an axe and tinderbox. these are easy to drop later on, but usually at least 2 of them are required for the completion of a level. use your prayer wisely, remember each level always has the same boss (as far as i know) and some bosses will disable your prayers anyway. Use the map liberally (while running) to see where you have rooms you haven't been in yet, to move efficiently around.

anyone have better / other advice?

Thanks, very helpful. How do I know what is a bonus room though? (and also, why do i still get negative pecentages for complexity while I was at lvl 6)

well, it doesn't really matter what is a bonus room, and what is not. you just want to enter all the rooms, grab any keys, open doors further down the line. You've always got to judge whether or not to kill stuff in a particular room is most efficient or not (if you need food, if you're going to have to run past many times, therefore expending too much food etc.).

For maximising xp, this game is actually requires thinking and adapting to general stituations. The many puzzles are also nice, at least now in the start before we all learn them by heart.

I have no idea why you get negative percentages for complexity, even at level 6. I've never had that happen to me, then again i've only played 5 levels that weren't level 6 :D

see how it says Prestige #? where it says your prestige?

The # is the number of different floors you completed you did before your last reset

that higher that number, the higher your prestige

there are other factors as well. You don't want to do each floor more than once. A diverse spread floors will also boost your prestige supposedly.

solo to 3 man teams are the way to go

4-5 mans result in ridiculous bosses

3 man teams, designate one person to run around unlocking all the doors, looking for the boss

other 2 people get monster hunting/food gathering/armor gathering duty

promethium rapier/spears are the way to go for weapons

Bind 125 law runes for gatestone runes. this + home teleport means you can dump your resources on the gruond @ the smuggler as a pseudo bank, and actively create and use gatestones to return to where you were last.

place a gatestone in front of a boss, in 3 man teams bosses are very different from solo bosses, they're aloot stronger

chances are, at least someone is going down. The gatestone will allow you to escape, restock, etc

once you have enough armor/weapons to takeon the boss, do it. don't dawdle.

Once I have 50 dungeon and a promethium platebody, My plan is just to rambo floors 1-10

I might stop for mining/armor on floors 10+

Of course I know what prestige is and how it works, I think you may have misunderstood me. I wasn't asking for an explanation, rather from a strategic approach. I, myself also reset the prestige. Cheers for the post, I'll try teaming like that. Been soloing until 39 so far.

I know this is a little off of the current topics on this thread but i best suggestion to help make dungeneering better would along with high level items and books that the bosses drop there could be added a chance for them to drop amounts of tokens also based off of each persons dungeneering skill level. like if you have 5 dung you could have a chance to get up to 500 tokens but it would a random number between 1-500. Level 20 dung could get up to 2000 tokens. So we could get at the goodies a little bit faster. But since its a chance drop and its random number based on the dungeneering lvl it wont make getting tokens super easy just a bit faster and wont tie the tokens to 1/10 of each persons xp level.

Still somebody's [wagon] better be getting fired. You don't royally screw up like this two days after a skill release and go on with your business willy nilly.

In most of Europe (England included) you have to have a legal reason to fire someone, it's not like the US where you can fire much more liberally. I doubt any heads will role, because that would probably be illegal.

Wow, that's a bit ridiculous. If one of my employees sucked at their job I should be able to fire them to make room for a better employee.

Durr hurr. Because this happened due to an employee who "sucked at his job."

This was triggered by something that obviously was not apparent nor present in the testing. Much like how the Construction pvp glitch would have never been uncovered, because of the specific pre-requisites for the bug to show itself, there is no one at Jagex who could have possibly foreseen that Runecrafting would suddenly go ape[cabbage] and start spewing out millions of exp.

So, promethium spear is best? I've been using promethium maul (though I haven't gotten a spear drop yet). Which monsters are weak to what?

My statement was more regarding the laws that say you can't fire someone without a legal reason. Cool down with the hostility buddy, its not a good way to make friends.

To answer a few of the questions in this massive quote...

--Bonus rooms are any rooms that are not needed to access the final boss. Unlocking all rooms in a dungeon will give an extra 13% exp (You don't have to enter them you just have to make sure that it is not a question mark on the map)

--Killing off all the monsters in a dungeon adds an extra 10% to you ending exp, leaving too many however can grant negative exp.

--Any complexity under 6 will grant negative exp so it is always beneficial to play at 6.

And for the fastest exp I've found, just play on complexity 6 and start on floor 1 and make your way down until you start repeating floors. Then just reset your status and do it again. I have been going solo using this method and at level 34 I am averaging about 900-1.5k exp per floor (which approx. takes me 15-20mins)

I agree something needs to be done with amount of tokens. Or, rather, the price of the rewards. The way it is, the dungeoneering requirements are pointless, as you can't get that many tokens to get the item you have access to at just about any (all?) of the reward levels. And it's not like 1 or two more levels, it's practically 20 levels, at least for the lower rewards.

Batch 2 is just pure speculation right?

It's in the FAQ, they mentioned specifically that they would give a ranged equivalent of the mage prayer.

I'm wondering more though if there will be curse equivalents of both in batch 2.

Haven't logged on yet, and it seems I can't, but is there only 1 dungeon? and are they planning on adding more? or am I just not getting this?

And is there extras for P2P (I'm guessing yes?)

Oh that's good to see. That FAQ really clears a lot of things up.

That pic is epic.

Bahaha, I support, QFC please?

Lol, no idea, in the megathread it's being reposted fairly often though.

Quick find code: 15-16-70-60760616 for the megathread

Popular parodies include:

Jagex for Blizzard

MMG for Andrew

The whole thread is full of reposted ASCII art and hate. /sigh

The huge overuse of memes in RSOF makes me cringe in anger.
