Zayce
Not bad at all! Although I believe there's another typo - It's 'Misthalin', not 'Aisthalin.' Easy mistake.
gonpost
Great story.       Ah, that is the paragon of the living runescape. Alas, for it will never be realized. Runescape Name: "unbug07"Expand your mind.

stanford
Wow. It took them almost two days to get to Falador. It usually takes me around 8 min to get to Fally from Lumbridge. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Yeah. Rick Turpentine gives me nightmares.
anonimu
I don't understand why noone who posted here said anything about the "good old times when there were drop parties everywhere and no jerks or stupid ppl" A.K.A RSC...   I joined RS in August of 2003, 4 months before RS2...   I had almost forgotten how generous ppl were in RSC, everything was so much better... This story reminded me of the good old times...   In RSC things like this actually happened often... I remember going to a drop party and almost getting rune legs... I also remember when a high-level bought an addy weapon (forgot what it was) from a fally shop and gave it to me... I was trying to get 28 att so I could wield it... I then gave it away to a friend who told me where all the cities are...       RSC was so much better... Losers...Are you blind or ignoring me on purpose?Even though I sometimes side with religious people in some debates, I no longer consider myself religious. Barihawk
Actually, this reminds me of my first day in RS2. I got killed by darkwizards, so a level 76 ran all the way to lumbridge to give me my items back. He then showed me all around Runescape and made me steel armor to get me back on my feet. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â I try to do the same for new players as much as possible. I helped a girl on her first day of members do a clue...ended up taking us almost an hour via explanations and tutorials. She got addy (t) skirt and a pickaxe...to her that was a white party hat (she did not even understand how much my whip was worth, thought it was a quest item). Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Through the eyes of a new player, this game is overwhelming. I was tremendously impressed my first day (even for an 18-year old). My heart is broken by the terrible loss I have sustained in my old friends and companions and my poor soldiers. Believe me, nothing except a battle lost can be half so melancholy as a battle won. -Sir Arthur Wellesley
Unrealist
I always thought it was a TELEPORT that got you off tutorial...not some idiot sailor who doesnt know the way to asgarnia.       Very well written is all i can say. somerville
Tutorial Island????????   when i started you just showed up in lumby with no items and started searching for items on the ground and fighting barehanded for drops.       People have it easy now with all the items they get free on the island.       Oh ya, there were only 6 free worlds way back then, and you don't know what lag is if you didn't play back then!! Gandalfwg
Ya, I remember my first time in Runescape. Runescape Classic that is oh and it wasn't called that either. Back in the day, when Runescape was only a year or so old. I didn't even know what an MMORPG was back then. I traveled from Lumbridge to Varrock on that first day. LOL, I remember I told my bro about so he spent 6 hours on it the next days and worked up to full bronze. Then I spent one and half to two hours after he did and got full iron... I still don't think he's gotten over that... So ya I'm an old-timer, even though I only have a level 78 guy. Thanks to Runescape I've played countless other MMO's and now I want to someday create the best MMORPG ever. Or I'll just play Runescape some more.... Jesst
Hands down, best story I've ever read, related to Runescape. I think we can all relate to that a little, Â Â Â Â Â Â Â I myself, remember meeting a very helpful person, nicest in all of runescape. Unfortunatly, they left and I hadnt remembered to add them. One day I hope to find that person lol,
tijgerforce
Realy nice story, first thing I read totaly :-)   It is all so simple from asgarnia to falador is 2 mins walk but you describe it as 1 ÃÆÃâÃâá 2 days walking, nicely done.   Then how a richer person treats a lower leveld person is just awesome, the way runescape should be. Gaskyl
*enters forum*       Heh, good story. Even if there was no Tutorial Island when I first came in as I also came in what's now Runescape Classic before. I didn't do much that first day, just looking around, and doing little stuff for the first few days.        Runescape was my first real look at a MORPG, and I haven't felt much reason to go elsewhere.

Redizhot
God, I remember when I first signed up being afraid to leave Lumbridge for ages. I had no idea what the world was shaped, I had always assumed Lumbridge castle was facing North and South, not West and East, that ares still confuses me directionwise today...a little bit, anyway, know where I'm giong, at least. Anyway, I just remember training in the goblin house, getting ecstatic whenever a goblin chain mail dropped, 20gp in the bag! I remember once seeing a Steel Two-hander in the shop, which immediately reminded me of the Buster Sword, and I wanted to buy it, but the price was over 700gp. My Jaw Dropped at that amount. Heh heh...
NiceanArcher
Awesome story. If actual Runescape would have more depth to a story like that instead of seeing "n00b n00b" and "you sauk!" being scrolled every 5 seconds, it would make the whole place a lot more enjoyable.
