killmenub
I thought this deserved its own topic for discussion as people have seemed to overlooked the rewards of the new "skill." Now forget the fact they need to be recharged and look at these items for a second. Chaotic Rapier - Nearly the same strength as a whip- Faster may be? Chaotic Longsword - More strength than a vesta longsword- ATLEAST half the price (more like 1/5 even after recharging a few times)- More crush/slash than a vesta longsword Chaotic Mual - +30 Strength more than a god sword- +167 Crush; highest crush ingame - corp anyone?- Two-handed or one handed? These items look insanely overpower for PVP. And the maul will definately be a new corp wep imo. Also the sheilds are going to be insane for bossing block 20% of certain attacks. Discuss. I have merged the topic "Gravite and Chaotic Equipment" with this one as the discussion in both is the same ~Carl_Dublin Edited April 24, 2010 by Carl_Dublin Merging IGN: HesFearless. -Jamie
Hajutze
The Rapier is the equivalent of Scimy, so its the same speed as whip.I think the Maul was the 4 bars hammer, its 2h.
Patr1ck
Doubt these will be used as much as you think, considering how much it costs to recharge them.

Like I said the longsword is better than a vesta long (which costs around 17m - im not 100% up-to-date with prices). I'm thinking these will definately be new pvp weps. I don't think you people understand. Vesta longsword is currently 14m (it was 17-18m at one point I remember). It lasts 60 minutes of combat and is not resellable. Chaotic longsword costs 2m to recharge and doesnt disappear so is resellable after buying, and has better stats than a vesta longsword. It also lasts 10 hours compared to 60 minutes. Why wouldn't people use this? IGN: HesFearless. -Jamie

I might end up buying the items just to have for looks since to me it sounds like more expensive barrows armor. That of course, if I manage to get to 80 or whatever you need to use them, then get enough tokens to buy them and not go insane before that point. :P ........::::: Rainy's YouTube Channel - Rainy's Twitter - Rainy's Facebook - Rainy's DeviantArt - Rainy's Tumblr - Rainy's Tip.It Profile :::::......... bedman
Corp is weak to stab, not crush. The Rapier are and longsword might be usefull, but what interests me the most are actually the new ammy with a 15% mage boost, the antipoison totem, the updated magic longbow (140 range attack now!) and the +13 ranged gloves, the bonecrusher and the farming thing. Those are all non degradeable, and the best in their kind. Really curious how magic longbow (damn, just realised its the longbow and not the shortbow :() with rune arrows will compare to rune cbow with addy bolts or something. Ronan
From the looks of things, they are going to add a new element to most boss-hunting areas. I'm not very clued in with the PvP area, but I'd imagine that they'll hold a big advantage their too. LIke others have said though, the fact that it requires the recharging could play an impact on their overall usefulness. It could well be that the experience later on from dungeons / certain setups of dungeon styles later on will yield much greater experience and therefore greater tokens which would make these more viable. Either way - it should be quite interesting to see how things play out!

Most people who will put the effort in obtaining these weapons can earn that 2 million recharge cost in an hour. These weapons will be the new standard in PvP and make solo GWDing a lot easier. 400k points is 4 million xp though. It will take a while before the first of these babies start appearing below your red hp bar in PvP. meb
Yes bedman but that doesn't go in both ways. You can exchange your tokens for xp at a 1:1 ratio but you only gain tokens at a 1:10 to xp ratio. Just do a dungeon, you'll see it at the bottom of the rewards screen. Youmu
So... does this mean that for once, longswords will be able to beat rapiers (scimitars), and longbows be able to beat shortbows? If so, that's sweet. BlogTrimmed | Master Quester | Final BossBoss pets: Bombi | Shrimpy | Ellie | Tz-Rek Jad | Karil the Bobbled | Mega Ducklings120s: Dungeoneering | Invention

No because most people who pvp with these weps use +1 worlds, and you don't have to grind you can just buy them off players aswell I'm guessing (although they dont appear on the GE yet). Assume Nothing
Doesn't PVP worlds prevent you from keeping non-tradeable items on death? You lose everything on a PvP world. On Bh+1 you keep it if its the highest alchable you've got. I hate training this 'new skill'. But, the rewards are a good incentive, even make's hawks dagger look weak :o. I consider this minigame as a 'bigger sc' that is supposedly a skill now. The sad part of these weapons is that they are only base hits, so not as effective in PvP as you might think. No surprise hits with a special.
Troacctid
So...you need about level 90 (with literally no other rewards on the way) to get one of these new items, and you can't reobtain it if you lose it? Yeah, sounds great. Read my blog | Follow me on Twitter | Track my XP
