Req: Advanced Dungeoneering Bestiary

Recommended Posts

Since the combat triangle has been reforged for Daemoheim the combat triangle has proven much more effective here. Also the attack type has a larger effect on monsters and yourself inside. I hear everyone talking about it (spear is best because you can use every style etc..) but when do you use what attack style?

I would like to request a more advanced guide with a list of each monster per floor, their strength and especially their weakness, what type of damage they do and maybe even how to pray against them. This would help many players understand more of the general influence of combat styles.

You do realise the floors are random and within their themed area ANY monster can turn up on ANY floor and that their level varies depending on floor, dungeoneering level, teams combat stats and what else is in the room?

For example soloing on floor 10 or so I get some rooms with like 5 monsters in but they are all lvl 10 - 20 ish. Another room with 1 enemy it will be cranked up to lvl 120.

On floor 1 since reseting I've had a lvl 154 boss

Of course.. But the LEVEL of a monster does not affect it's weakness does it? I mean a skeleton that is very fragile to crush at level 78 isn't suddenly more resistant to it at level 10?

And with "for each floor" I mean for each theme. There is a specific set of monsters (bat/skeleton/giant/..) for each 5 floors.

It still isn't HUGELY needed.

They follow basic combat triangle:

Mages are weakest to rangers

Meleers are weakest to mages

Rangers are weakest to Melee

Equally their attack styles are pretty obvious.

The only hugely useful bit of info (thou this is till very easy to figure out yourself) is whether they r weak to stab, slash or crush.

I'm pretty sure that's what was meant, what are weak to which attack (Crush/Stab/Slash).

Also, on some monsters, like Hydra for example, some combats seem to be more effective than others. I've experienced a ranger damage a Hydra way more than I do as a melee. And same applies to attack styles, I can never figure out what to pray against on shades, seems that you can't even pray against them (which is information that should be added).

At any rate, if crewbies approve, I'd love to see this thread going and would support it with my own experiences as well.

PS: If you find that such information is very easy to figure out, please share and tell us, I'd love to know this.

Well that's a start.. and what are the defense percentages of stab, slash or crush of the hydra and the shade?

Theres no humanly possible way to know that.

I havent had a crush wep but both of them died quicker to stab than slash in my experience

First priority is just finishing the dungeoneering bestiary. I just released the majority of the frozen floor specific monsters yesterday; it's been very time consuming gathering a decent log of drops and combat level variations for each monster.

Once I have the other themed floors' monsters released, I'll look at other options to display them.

I was in a monolith room and i was getting piled by 3-4 shades so i decided to throw on protect from magic, i was still taking some damage. So i think that either some of them use magic, some use range, or they can use both styles. Something i noticed though was they use two different color attacks, a blue ball and a green ball leading me to believe that blue is magic and green is range.

Could very well be in melee armour blue ones hit hard but I had little trouble with green as I rarely saw them and they nvr seemed to hit.

I've noticed that too, I believe they can use both styles, like Icefiends.

I'm almost 100% certain this is the case.

Crew, some friends and myself are working on finding distinct weaknesses for each monster. Our research is going well, because as you pointed out, attack styles and the combat triangle are very important in Daemonheim.

Thank you. I know defence percentages are already known on some monsters (here or on wikia - i forgot) so I know it's possible to know the exact numbers. Not really sure how to test it though. But any information would be very helpful to the advanced bestiary imo.

(Also note that jagex once said that an npc with armour equipped would have the exact stats as a player with that armour - difficult to tell with skeletons and hydra, but the warriors probably have roughly those stats)
