The Adventures of Bobby Ray

Alright so I have been a HUGE fan of B.O.B ever seen his first E.P release back in 2007. So today was the much anticipated release of his album The Adventures of Bobby Ray, and I must classify it as a new form of Rap. He cleverly mixes his skills as a musician, with his talented vocals. He is bringing a new form out, which will hopefully take away from Gucci Mane, Webbie, etc. etc.

I was just wondering yawls opinion of the album, and ratings.

Here are mine:

Track 1: Dont Let Me Fall. This song introduces a very nice piano vibe, with a absolutely sick flow. This song is classic Bobby Ray, and the singing was actually great compared to other mainstream rappers. 5/5

Track 2: Nothin on You (ft. Bruno Mars). This song has swept the charts and radios. Bruno Mars is an incredible vocalist, and adds a nice touch to the song, where B.O.B brings a nice and chill flow to it. 5/5

Track 3:Past My Shades (ft. Lupe Fiasco). Personally I feel like Lupe brought this song down. This song has a great up-tempo soulsy type beat, and then Lupe has a very slow, not so great flow. 3/5

Track 4:Airplanes (ft. Hayley Williams from Paramore.)....Incredible song. You tube users have blown up cover songs, and the reason why is because it is a very inspirational song. 6/5

Track 5: Bet I (ft. T.i and Playboi Tre)...Not a fan particularly. Kind of a hardcore song, but T.i delivers, which is not a surprise. 2/5

Track 6:Ghost Machine: Honestly not sure what to say about this song. It was alright, I guess i wasn't that into it. Very interesting 3/5

Track 7: The Kids (ft. Janelle Monae) Very unique mix of an alternative chorus, with a nice rap. Ehh not his best, but unique. 3/5

Track 8:Magic: Not a huge fan of pop, but I must say that I love pop with a mix of rap, and this song is great. a Pop, upbeat chrorus, with of course a great B.O.B flow.

Track 9:Lovelier than You: For some odd reason im hearing a Bob Marley mix to this song, and i love it. It is a great song when it is raining out, and you just want to chill (if that makes sense). 5/5

Track 10:5th Dimension: B.O.B mixed with R/B Soul should not be allowed. Sorry. 1/5 (worst song on the album

Track 11: Airplanes pt 2 (ft. Hayley Williams, and Eninem.)-Absolutely the best song on the album. Inspirational flow and chorus from Bobby and Hayley and a mind blowing throwdown by Big E. 5/5

This was a very very good album but your missing a few tracks so I'll add mine

 

1."Don't Let Me Fall"

2. "Nothin' on You" (featuring Bruno Mars) - Radio kind of killed this song for me but 4/5

3. "Past My Shades" (featuring Lupe Fiasco) - I feel Lupe missed on this song which is weird because hes usually always on point. The chorus is a little annoying as well. 2/5

4. "Airplanes" (featuring Hayley Williams of Paramore) Great Message 5/5

5. "Bet I" (featuring T.I. & Playboy Tre) Good street single and I respect him for putting this on the album. When you come from a label like Grand Hustle you cant lose touch with the streets. 4/5

6. "Ghost in the Machine" - Well produced but I wasnt feeling it 3/5

7. "The Kids" (featuring Janelle Monae) - One of the best songs on the album 5/5

8. "Magic" (featuring Rivers Cuomo of Weezer) - Not a fan of Rivers but this was alright 4/5

9. "Fame" - Hot track 4/5

10. "Lovelier Than You" - Pure B.o.B

11. "5th Dimension" (featuring Ricco Barrino) -4/5

12. "Airplanes, Part II" (featuring Eminem & Hayley Williams of Paramore) - Amazing song Em did his thing 5/5

Bonus tracks

13. "Letters From Vietnam" - Very good concept 5/5

14. "I See Ya" - More of a mix tape song. If you liked his mixtapes its worth a listen more street then pop. 4/5

Those leaked a few weeks ago had them under a different name but indeed I missed those.

 

Higher- It was alright thought it was more fit for a mixtape then an album 2/5

 

Satellites- Great beat wish it got a little more play had a kind of a cudi feel to it 5/5

Personally I think Don't Let Me Fall is the best track on the album. The Airplanes song is not as good as it's made out to be imo, but Eminem's verse is just too good. I almost would have preferred if B.o.B himself sang the chorus instead of Hayley Williams. I found her voice annoying...

I'll probably check this album out. I listened to Airplanes pt II to hear Eminem's verse and I thought it was pretty great. Didn't like the chorus at all though.

i think airplanes would've have been better if hayley had a verse in it instead of just singing the chorus, same with the one with bruno mars. i always despise songs like that, why pay someone just to do a few lines and besides hayley is a good songwriter and bruno is too, has anyone heard his new EP? its amazing

i was really feeling this guy when i heard nothin' on you. airplanes seems to appeal more to teenage girls (counted 12 girls (and one guy) on facebook who made that stupid chorus line their status's) than true fans of hip hop. i enjoyed part II with em though.
