Things that annoy the HELL out of you.

Assume Nothing

Have you ever been drunk alone? Did it once in my teens when I was hundreds of miles from home, about to drop out of university and feeling very insecure about my long-term future.

Possibly the loneliest and most depressing night of my life.

When people don't know their cardinal directions.

"Do you live west or east of Sierra Avenue?"

"I don't know."

God forbid when you want something delivered to you, you need to know where YOU are.

I'm sure it wasn't solely the alcohol which made it a bad night

Oh no, I definitely agree. That was the point I was making. Alcohol consumption in Western society is generally seen as a social activity and, at that moment, it only reinforced the pre-existing idea that I was lonely. To be fair, my life (relationships, money, career) at that time was in total chaos and it's understandable with hindsight why that happened. It was four years ago so it's far in the past now.

Things are totally the opposite these days and I probably wouldn't react in the same way. :)

Lately, I have been acquiring a special sort of rage for people who adopt extremely cynical philosophies as an excuse to be obnoxious, and my brother became one of them. There is something about people that constantly rant on about how screwed up the world is without even making one proactive effort that makes me want to punch them in the face really hard.

I always forget one or two items whenever I go shopping for food, even with a list. I suppose the extra walking is good for me but it's still annoying when you need that item.

Just went to eat a midnight snack, toast and jam, and saw that half of the loaf of bread that I bought today is missing. I'm optimistic that when I confront the flatmates tomorrow someone will pay me 50p or give me half of their loaf but I'm not sure what to do if someone doesn't own up. I'm not really petty but I'd consider payback perhaps in the form of loud music during the early hours of the day.

EDIT: One of the girls says it was a guy in my flat who took it but then she offered to buy me a new loaf free of charge. I am happy with this outcome.

People who say hashtag _____ in everyday conversation.

I find it physically impossible to take someone who does this seriously.

I assumed the hashtag was a little trick that made searching for something on social media easier before transforming into the obnoxious meme it is today. If my assumption is wrong, then I cannot understand why people do that thing either.

Googling desktop backgrounds and finding that all the good results redirect to stores. Has anyone ever actually payed money for a wallpaper?

There's...a business for that?

Hyper vigilant reactions to non issues piss me off so much. And arguing with my parents when I know they're right but they continue to argue with me even when I've given up. Just shut the [bleep] up so we can move on. PLEASE

Walmart's stoplight in the main road in town. The thing is on a scheduled cycle so it forces cars to stop and show there is a Walmart there. As if nooone knew...[bleep]ing annoying.
