Things that annoy the HELL out of you.

At my university there are 5 colleges: Science & Engineering, Nursing, Education, Business, and Liberal Arts. For some reason, only people in the Science & Engineering college are sensible enough to have their own personal calculators, so I get a bunch of people asking me to borrow mine. The worst part is when they borrow it, and then they don't have it the next time I see them.

You know if you're worried about this you can just say no, right? if you need your calculator for your homework or your own exams you have every right to not give it away every time somebody asks for it, lol.

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm an introvert of the "needs quiet to recharge" flavor, sharing a room with someone who has: A) never heard the phrase "indoor voice", B) Very little respect for the ideas of tact, respect, and manners (Read: spoiled little shit), and C) A sleep schedule that's shifted about five hours from mine. Most of the stuff I use for relaxation is a few feet away from him, and I can't go to my usual retreat because it's covered in Christmas junk. Naturally, talking to him doesn't work because he's the sort of person that barely even pays lip service to his own parents.

Naturally, this has made me somewhat irritable, and I've been snapping at people for otherwise minor stuff for the better part of a week. Blocking him out with headphones doesn't work because he's often louder than whatever I'm trying to listen to, and if I wanted to catch up on watching something I'd be treated to him "overdubbing" it in a way that suspects he never really aged past 13.

Alright, rant's over, back to emotionlessness.

If you kill him the police will understand.

If I could travel across the country, I wouldn't mind helping him disposing of the evidence. I have the exact same relationship with my brother, Alg, so I know where you're coming from. However, my feelings toward him are... slightly different, to say the least. Is there anything you can do about getting yourself distanced from him?

What the actual [bleep]?

I'm not sure which worries me more. That someone actually took the many hours of time to create some Plasticine models depicting their deep sense of jealousy, anger and insecurity; or that my classmate's boyfriend thought it would be appropriate to post this onto her wall on Christmas Day...

welcome to the internet, please take this complimentary t-shirt that says "i went on the internet and all i got was this lousy t-shirt and also someone tricked me into visiting goatse.cx"

seriously though whoever made the models probably made them because you can sell them to dumb anime nerds who have more money than social skills. and i'm gonna take a leap of guess and say that the person was reposting it more out of "look at these cute anime toys" than a deep sense of rage jealousy and insecurity

At the risk of sounding like one of those dumb anime nerds who has more money than social skills (Which I would be without question if I was more of an anime nerd and/or had more money)... That's from Death Note, isn't it? Based on the (very) little I know about that franchise, it's probably got a lot of merchandise like that.

That is definitely deathnote. I actually have a death note as an item to add to my keychain hehe.

He has now reached the point where he both knows that we've hit the bandwidth cap and still tries to play GTA 5 online... Then complains about the lag to his friends. In addition to watching Youtube videos and causing the rest of us to struggle to do anything and such. It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't suspect that he was most of the reason we're past the cap to begin with.

I actually envy your ability to subtly troll your brother. Mine has too much of a temper for that. Not much I can do until he leaves in another two weeks.

I think at this point, if he uses "#YOLO" unironically I'm legally required to kill him. It's probably in the constitution or something, I don't know. Not like anyone's ever read that thing. :twss:

My brother is a lot similar to your roommate down to temper and lack of regards to a bandwidth limit (just minus the game playing thing). The only reason I can get away with screwing with him subtly is because he can't pick up the hints when I am stealthily screwing or insulting him.

Also, at the risk of coming off as weird, what does "YOLO" mean? I have seen that around, but never quite understood it.

"You Only Live Once". Normally a good advice phrase but people use it as an excuse to do stupid and/or dangerous crap. Like driving down at 100mph? #YOLO

Haha wow I can't believe it's almost 2014 and people still don't know what YOLO means..

By not seeing the stupid things in life and society? I envy them.
