As cheesy as his solo stuff was... he was definitely one of the best vocalists in metal, no question. He had such a recognisable, powerful, charismatic voice that just about anyone (into metal or not) loved. He was also a brilliant entertainer, and not to mention he popularised the horns.

 

He will be missed. Here's to some good new talent coming along, too.
