Solo / Duo TD's

Well I've been doing Zammy GWD a lot lately but i need a break while still gaining some money from boss hunting. I want to do TD's however im still really new to this and not all that good at pray switching yet so i was wondering what set up i should use. I was thinking this setup:

Helm of Neitiznot

Glory

Karil's Top

Verac's Skirt

Dragon Boots

Barrows Gloves

Defence Cape (t) or Ardy Cloak 3 (for pray bonus)

Rune c'bow

Spirit Shield / Unholy Book

500 Diamond (e) bolts

RoL / Explorers ring 3

Invo:

Darklight

Dragon Halberd

Enhanced Excalibur

2 Fire Titan pouches

Titan's Con. Scrolls

Super Attack

Super Strength

Range Potion

3 Prayer Potion

Rest Sharks

EDIT: Also which spot should i use? I've tried both the northern and north eastern spots but 2 demons are just to much for me. If someone would like to duo with me ill be more than happy to have a teamate or coach to help me along

1. You have to pray the whole time. The damage you take isn't that much however. Depending on your internet connection and switching ability, you might last anywhere between 4-10 pray pots a trip using a titan.

2. One titan summoned. No pouches extra. It's hard to stay longer than a pouch. Might want to start with a tort of sharks, then switch out to titan.

3. Besides which, the bank trip is under five minutes.

4. Diamonds don't help much. TDs are relatively low defense. Broads, rune, xbow, or hand cannon are most commonly used.

5. Use the north eastern spot. Even if you only plan to kill one spawn. The big rock and surroundings form the most consistent obstacle. You just need to trap the demons you're not currently fighting.

6. There were historical reason to use a halberd. They no longer apply. Use a whip or godsword or something.

Oh, and add me. I may want to duo after next week. Working on chaotic rapier first.

Disclaimer: The above is probably inaccurate.

I'd stick with Neitz - which is imo the best helm in the game. Fairly cheap, str and pray bonues, decent def bonus...besides, at td's prayer usually counts more then armor. Also, this is just me, I'd swap out the veracs skirt of karil skirt. But this is just me, most people WOULD probably reccomend veracs :P

Oh, and if you have 80 or higher firemaking, use the handcannon - I used it once, it was beastly. Unfortunately, BOTH of them exploded under 15 minutes -.-

Squab unleashes Megiddo! Completed all quests and hard diaries. 75+ Skiller. (At one point.) 2000+ total. 99 Magic.
[spoiler=The rest of my sig. You know you wanna see it.]

my difinition of noob is i dont like u, either u are better then me or u are worst them me

Buying spins make you a bad person...don't do it. It's like buying nukes for North Korea.

Well if it bothers you that the game is more fun now, then you can go cry in a corner. :shame:

your article was the equivalent of a circumcized porcupine

The only thing wrong with it is the lack of a percentage for when you need to stroke it.

Here's what I would do:

Helm of Neitiznot

Fury

Karil's Top

Kari'ls Skirt

Dragon Boots

Barrows Gloves

Soul Wars cape

Rune c'bow

Unholy Book

500 Diamond (e) bolts + 500 Ruby (e)

Archer ring

Invo:

Darklight

Bandos godsword

Enhanced Excalibur

1 Fire Titan pouches

Titan's Con. Scrolls

Super Attack

Super Strength

Range Potion

Saradomin Brew + Super restore (acts as super def)

Sapphire lantern (you'll need this)

Teleport to house/Lumby

Prayer potions, Sharks and/or Brews + Super restores in rest of inventory and summoned Tortoise (You'll need to do runs and try to improve inventory over time; just go with your best guess at first). IMO, Hally is a waste. You'll get used to switching prayers and the extra power of a Bandos godsword really speeds things up. Also, use the rubies in the first half of the demon, end him with diamonds.

this is pretty much what my setup was when i used extremes, downgraded a bit.

tdbeginnersetup.png

if you can't last long enough, drop the second set of pots, but i like to keep my stats high. similarly you'll have to adjust your number of prayer potions... i try to stay there for an hour and i need about 13 regular prayer potions (96 prayer, 31 points per dose).

Whether or not the hally should be considered as a serious main weapon, it's very useful when you get into a bad situation of two or more tds attacking you at once, where you must step back to avoid being hit. i used the hally as my main weapon for my first two claw solos (400 kills for my first claw drop) and it works okay, and you don't have to worry about melee attacks. good to start out with. the special attack is also pretty decent, perhaps comparable to dragon claws if you take into account the 0-1 hits you can sometimes get speccing with those, and the fact that you get 3 and 1/3 specs per 100% bar. still, the whip or godsword is probably better for when you're fighting comfortably.

karils vs d hide... i've tried both, and i don't see a significant benefit to karils over d hide. their range attacks are a pain no matter what... it's foolish to try to tank them, just keep your offensive bonuses high and kill them quickly. learn to prayer switch. it takes time, it's a skill you get good at over time.

you could bring unholy book for ranged attacks, but i just leave defender equipped when i used a one handed range weapon.

ring... explorers gives a small prayer bonus and you can restore run so you don't have to rest when running to tds =) but i like to have it in bank for if i die, so i can run back without bothering with potions

add me?

Diamonds + rubies are really unneccesary and will add to costs when using a sw cape. Just go with broads, they hit fine.

Thank you for all the advice guys, I decided to get my range up to 90 that way i will be more effective before i start killing them again.

@ De Lille, No fury and no SW cape so ill have to replace those with Glory and Ardy cloak 3. I believe someone above posted that their def was low enough broads would work perfectly fine and diamond/ruby (e)'s are overkill.

@smapla, Again no fury for sw cape so like above ill have to substitute for it, Also i dont have any of the rings(i) so ill probably just be using a explorers ring since i dont wanna risk my archers ring with my chances of dieing as high as they are, i will add you ingame so that after i get 90 range we can start tding :)

in regards to death, make sure to set up an emergency tab. several sapphire lanterns, energy potions, teleports. also either a five minute or the six minute grave. have you ever timed how long it takes you to run back there after a death or a straight tele to lumb? practicing a few times might help if you're worried about dying.

oh =s

are you comfortable with using the function keys to switch tabs? it's incredibly hard to td effectively without using them, and the extra second gives their attacks enough time to hit
