Mcdonalds burgers

I never understood the movie Supersize Me anyway. It is clear the food is not the healthiest choice and of course eating it for a month will make your terribly ill. Do they want all restaurants to be healthy food? They'll go all out of business, damn.

The movie is actually a key part of no child left behind act, its sole purpose to be played during pe days. To ensure epic sleeping possibilities, thus making said student more awake in the important parts of the day.

I have all the 99s, and have been playing since 2001. Comped 4/30/15

A burger doesn't have to be healthy to be a good burger. It just has to be real... At least for me.

I bet if you eat nothing but fatty, organic meat for a month you'll have health issues, at least later in life.

Curses! Those devilish scoundrels, attempting to make a living by selling food that many people think tastes good! The bastards!

Fat has nothing to do with it. If you'd like to learn, you can Google the term "ketogenic diet". Someone on a ketogenic diet has most of their calories come from fats. Only a very tiny amount of carbs are in the diet, enough for you to eat very fiberous veggies such as Kale. No breads, no fruits, no sugars. The diet was initially used to control seizures, but is now being used as a tool for consistent fat loss.

Much of the traditional "FAT IS GONNA CLOG MY ARTERIES!!!" is no longer actually thought to be true. Even dietary cholesterol is seen as a waste to monitor. There are medical conditions such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure, etc that can be aggrivated by a high fat diet...but it is no longer thought that the high fat diet can actually cause these problems.

Of course, calories need to be considered. A gram of fat has 9 calories, whereas a gram of carbs and protein each have 4 calories. Therefore, unmonitored "high fat" diets are usually excessive in caloric intake, which WILL lead to obesity, which will lead to these health problems. But, if you keep your cals in check, getting many of your calories from fat is not going to make you fat, or cause other health problems.

Finally, someone else who hasn't just read a couple of Oprah articles and decided that they know everything there is about nutrition.

Yes, I'm not exactly omniscient, but I've read quite a bit, and have offered many links on this forum, yet have never had anyone actually provide any real evidence against the hyperlipid hypothesis.

Lol Atkin's Diet.

Hmm, what else can you do with burger meat except make burgers? Is there anything else I could do with 48 American Burger patties I bought from Bookers?

I like "burger meat" in my eggs (gonna call it ground beef from here on). Just cook the meat and add it to scrabled eggs or an omlette. You can also break up the ground beef and break it up and use it as taco meat. Another favorite of mine is to use ground beef in meatballs, meat loaf, or stuffed peppers/stuffed cabbage.

Mmmm...gonna go make some stuffed cabbage now.

Basically just google "ground beef recipies" and substitute your burger patties where it says ground beef.

I have one question though: are the patties raw or pre-cooked? If they are pre cooked in might be hard to use them in some things like meatballs. But if they are raw, it should work just fine if you let them thaw for a good long time.

Raw, Frozen, Chef's Larder Burger Patties, American Style, 113g * 48. Not so sure on the meatballs, I could overmix it too easily.

These taste somewhat like Mcdonalds burgers, amusingly. Hmmm.

Isn't 'burger meat' just mince?

You could make a lot of things with mince.

80% mince, a good few percent seasonings, and some is corn starch or something

Oh and this experiment is almost as disgusting as

Everything does that in your stomach, it's nothing new.

Thanks captain obvious, I didn't say it was anything new, but just disgusting to look at. And it is. I wasn't aware you were able to see inside your stomach that you'd be so desensitized by it. Actually seeing it is odd, to say the least. At least it is for me. I don't know about you, but I don't make a habit of dipping things in hydrochloric acid, so yeah

Sorry bout that, and yeah, I've done it a few times when I was in a biotechnology course, although not with food.

I ate at mcdonalds yesterday. Dear god Bigmacs are amazing. They are perhaps the only hamburger I will ever enjoy with cheese on it, real or not.

Directly the result of this thread: I consumed a Big Mac yesterday, for the first time in a good many years. It wasn't quite as horrible as I remembered, but it's still certainly not food, although I was informed by a friend that it was "improperly prepared". (Actual quote: "[bleep] dude, that Mac is all [bleep]ed up and [cabbage].")

When I worked at McDonald's, Not many people could actually put a Big Mac together properly. Most people just threw random amounts of condiments, ruining the Big Mac.
