Happy Halloween

Well today is the 31st, and thus it's halloween :D

Not many people believe this is a real holiday, but to some it's a nice time to go out and party, and to some it's a nice time to go trick or treatin'. Now to make this thread interesting does anyone have any funny halloween stories? I haven't really got one except that once when I was like 7 I was out trick or treating and I got in the face by people throwing eggs XD. I even found it funny then :P.

Anywho, happy halloween all :D

It's a REALLY big shaft.

I didn't catch fire, I used the can of hairspray as a flamethrower and pointed it at my arm.

how are you going to ignore my posts when I'm offering to let you live as my vassal in two weeks time?

I love living in Australia and not celebrating this. I'm going to laugh if anyone comes to my door, and then laugh as my dad tells them to gtfo, in less internet-y terms.

Why all the hate for Halloween? Best holiday imo. Here in the states you get free candy and it's an excuse for delinquent youths such as myself to run around neighborhoods in the middle of the night.

And this is why it is disliked.

The expectation of youths to get free candy for ringing ur doorbell and the real threat of them wrecking ur garden/house with teepeeing etc if u don't.

Pluys the fact delinquent youths use the costumes to hide their identity and cause damage and general trouble.

Only douches trash peoples houses. Really, it's just fun to run around looking like idiots. At night.

Halloween was by far my favorite holiday as a kid. Dressing up as whatever you want and walking around past your bedtime. Not to mention you get free candy for doing so!

It's all about acting silly. Around here, the worst that people do is toilet paper a few trees, but normally they hit friends houses, not strangers.

Don't think it's as big a deal over here as it is in America. Although it is a good excuse to go out and get drunk dressed as Fred Flintstone.

I have a lot of friends that vandalize (et cetera) on Halloween. My friend Tyler [did something inappropriate] into someone's mailbox. o_o I think I was scarred for life after that.

So, basically Earthysun is Jesus's only son.

This Halloween will be no fun, I'm way to old to trick-or-treat and it's on a Sunday, so partying will be minimal.

My favorite part about Halloween would either be the chocolate or the girls in costumes.

I miss the days of trick-or-treating!

I won't be doing anything this year :( I have a project to work on and a midterm exam on Monday.

A holiday that gives you free candy?

Tell me again why some people hate this...?

Tell me again why some people hate this...?

Because

A) There's no real historical meaning in this holiday..

and

B) You basically break every rule you'd been taught as a kid.

Three months banishment to 9gag is something i would never wish upon anybody, not even my worst enemy.

There are several. They all blend together and get fueled by candy.

Unless I'm wrong the big one is that it's supposed to be the day where spirits and such can interact with the living, so costumes are worn to scare them off... Hence the obsession with the paranormal that follows it.

Christmas, probably the most widely-celebrated holiday in the world, is not only a religious date, but proven to be completely factually inaccurate. Holidays are not about history, they're about preserving a culture. They're for fun.

Best part of Halloween for me is seeing the costumes that people wear to school.

No, I'm not talking about the girls who dress as [bleep]s. I'm talking about the people who use the holiday to bring out their creative/crazy side.

Last year a friend of mine wore a blue shirt with cotton balls taped to it, and a bottle of Lysol filled with water. He was partly cloudy with a chance of rain.

This year? A bunch of Chilean miners, a Teletubby (Tinky Winky I think), and a guy who was on roller blades all day with a boombox (and pink shorts). The guy who was Tinky Winky also happens to be the tallest guy in the school.

It's a chance for people to cut loose, dress up, and eat corn-syrup.

I really don't get what problem it is people have with it. Here in the Great White North, it's celebrated by pretty much everyone.

I have to work at 6:30 the following morning, so I won't be doing much. My sister wanted to dress me up as The Joker (The Dark Knight one, of course) but never got the stuff to do it. It's a shame, too, because I let my hair grow out for it. A few years ago, we played Hide 'n' Seek at the local Catholic School. I had the best hiding spot of the day. The last couple of years, I have spent it watching horror/suspense movies, though.

Halloween is the best holiday. Dress out as ridiculous characters and get drunk.

This year I dressed up as an oil sheik, and my mate was Raoul Duke from Fear and Loathing.

It was a good day.

Ah Halloween. The best holliday. You got to run around in strange neighborhoods with lions and tigers and bears. And of course the free candy. Then there were also the occasional family that really got into it and did tricks and treats. Seeing little kids run as someone poped out of a coffin was always entertaining.

Then as you got older you got to play pranks on the people who failed to follow halloween protocall  Keep your porch light on but not give out any candy and we'll tee-pee your car. Eggs were for people who would give out healthy foods depending on, home made pumpikin seeds were great, toffu... thats an egging.

I prefered the haunted houses over the actual trick or treating though. The creepy foods and such. Several schools in my area would make one every year and open them to the public and it was fun to see peoples creativity. My own school just neveer got to make one for the last 3 years that i was in it  The seniors made it a little to scarry and the younger classes litterally tore the place apart. Never could make one again after that year

Me behave? Seriously? As a child I saw Tarzan almost naked, Cinderella arrived home from a party after midnight, Pinocchio told lies, Aladin was a thief, Batman drove over 200 miles an hour, Snow White lived in a house with seven men, Popeye smoked a pipe and had tattoos, Pac man ran around to digital music while eating pills that enhanced his performance, and Shaggy and Scooby were mystery solving hippies who always had the munchies. The fault is not mine! if you had this childhood and loved it put this in your signature!
