9-Nov-2010 - Bank Op and Equip Screen Update (BOAESU)

Pirkka

Recommended Posts

Ever got tired of closing and re-opening the bank so many times when you’re equipping your character? In this week’s update, we’ve updated the bank’s inventory view to offer right-click options on certain items. You’ll be able to equip weapons and armour, eat food, fill essence pouches, drink antipoison and energy potions, and much more besides.

The Equipment Bonuses interface has also had a makeover this week. It now offers right-click options for viewing the stats and weight of your items, and you can ‘Compare’ one item with another to see their stats displayed side by side. We’ve taken this opportunity to list items’ damage-absorption rates along with their other stats - this feature is used by high-level Dungeoneering reward armour. While you’ve got the bank open, you can even toggle instantaneously between the Bank and Equipment Bonuses interfaces by clicking the new buttons at the top-right corner of each. This should help you unequip items and check their stats without shutting the bank.

We expect you’ll have plenty of suggestions for operating other items with the bank open. While the system will always be a bit limited (i.e. don’t ask to combine items or light fires with the bank open!) we’d be happy to hear your requests.

I wonder how this will affect Runecrafting XP rates. Filling pouches in bank should be super useful.

I agree, no longer filling only 3 out of 4 pouches, and i wonder if you can fill your summoning familiar as well in the bank menu :o

Pirkka: "I would love to be able to give items to my beast of burden familiar while still banking."

Mod Ash: "Me too. But that'd be a fair bit more complicated than today's update, and would require a more substantial change to the bank interfaces. We know it's something people want, though, and I expect it'll be done in the not-too-distant future. Probably when the 2D interface staff are less overworked."

Not getting randoms while you have a death pile at corp is probably the best update in the past two years.

Why not use three right-clicks when three left-clicks do the job?

How the hell does this make RCing faster?

[hide=New bank interface]bankupdate.png[/hide]

Unless it is rather fail the update implys you can do right-click fill with bank open and it will fill from essence in your bank not just you inventory.

I really hope this means other players wont get attacked by Mummies spawned by other people, really annoys me when I go into a room where I'm searching/looting urns and I have to fend off the mummy because someone else opened the sarcophagus <_<

You have to close the bank regardless of the new update to fill up the abyssal BoB. Only now you have the *ahem* convenient option of doing three right-click -> left-clicks instead of just waiting until you close the bank and using three left-clicks only to fill the pouch.

There's no way on Earth this update makes RuneCrafting using the ZMI any faster, and baring in mind ZMI is within reason the fastest way of training RCing, I don't understand how this makes RuneCrafting itself any faster.

The only logical way this update could make ZMI faster is if you could fill BoBs while in the bank interface, and as far as I can tell, you can't.

I'm gonna miss the hazmat yellow gear, because the whole point of that outfit was to look bulky and unattractive.

On the other hand, the modern style gas mask probably didn't make sense in terms of the setting.

Nice!

Faster RCing now with right-click fill?

And can someone confirm they fill from the Bank over Inventory or Inventory over Bank?

Kingdom, Evil tree, Broomstick, and probably a few I forgot are all great too.

You seem to of missed my point entirely.

The update implies that you open bank with EMPTY inventory aside from pouches then right-click fill pouch and essence will go direct from bank > pouch.

If this is not the case it will still be a bit faster, unless you are utterly useless at right-clicking as you cut out shut bank > open bank cycle
