Apart from the warped floor-update and BOAESU, hasn't the recent (i.e. 1 month) updates been slacking a bit? Tell me what you think should be expected.

However, they might currently be working on something big or is it just me that don't give a thing about RuneScape competitions? The chances of you winning it is minimal unless your art skills are terrific. Mine, however, suck. :P

Thoughts?

Since we waited an extra week, this update better be better than the other ones.

Then again, I don't mind if updates do delay that much, due to things like technical issues.

Better late than with game-breaking bugs.

Though knowing Jagex lately, it'll be both. Still, I'm not at all opposed to them slowing down in order to at least TRY to test content before putting it out.

I probably wont have the requirements for this knew herblore thing anyways...

Can you say" HERBLORE INFLATION ONCE MORE?"

With a skill that already costs a fortune to get a big update, it just makes it even more expensive to just level it up in general. Cost me a bundle to level it up for quests because of updates :|

I'm kind of expecting this to be a way to nab some free repeatable xp rather than something that will require absurdly high herblore levels.

Though being 99 herblore I will not mind at all if high herblore is a huge advantage :D

My impression is they're trying to lower the cost of the skill. With getting 2nds back using the Dungeoneering scroll and the ability to get double herbs while farming it seems that is the case. Although we're not sure how the double harvest will work yet.

Which then makes farming so much easier and possibly less profitable. <_<

Kind of reminds me of how I'll probably never craft a nature rune again thanks to the "let's give non-91 runecrafters more nature runes" update.

It's weird thinking how Runecrafting, Woodcutting and Farming were the 'gathering' skills that were once profitable whereas Mining and Fishing were powertrained for no profit through granite/iron and fly fishing. Now ZMI is preferred because nature runes are shot, choking ivy is far better than anything else and Farming looks set to have its profits slashed as well, but we now have concentrated gold and rocktails for insane LRC profits.

Strange that there's been almost a complete reversal there.

The one thing you notice:

Natures: 44 RC

Yews: 60 WC (higher recommended, I know)

Herb running: 38 Farm for toadflax

Conc gold: 80 Mine

Rocktails: 90 Fish

It's clear that Jagex's agenda is to basically destroy the profits for the lower levels and restore them to exclusively high level content.

Farming difficulty will not be effected much because of the double herbs (assuming you'll get double xp) ,herblore will . i agree on the less profitable part.

Overall Dark is right, It seems Jagax tries to reduce herblore costs to a "sane" level.

Wish they do the same with pray (POH update maybe).

Having gotten 99 mining in f2p long before the LRC even existed I can tell you that it wás fair profit, even though I superheated, smithed and then alced all that I mined. Now mining is an "easy" semi-afk skill, but it can get lower leveled players a decent amount cash still (mining iron, clay, and coal is more profitable than it used to be).

I also didn't see cutting oak and yew logs being as profitable as they are now.

There are quite a number of people that only farm herbs, so to them it would make a difference (assuming double harvest is double xp as well).

However, I do think it's a good thing that they're trying to get the costs back to a more acceptable price. I'm just not so sure I like the means after what they've done to some of the other skills when "rebalancing" them.

insane LRC profits.

PFFFHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

Yeah man, that 200-300k profit is off the hook.

I swear you make it your job on here to argue for the sake of arguing.

1gp would be insane profit compared to the 0gp you gained before for powermining. Then there's also the potential for goldsmithing.

Yeah I mean look at the percentage increase of profit I mean just do 1/0 o̞̖̗͔̼̹̹ͩͦ͘s͇̝͓̰̙̮͓ͫ̊h̛͇̙̼̹͉̮͔ͧ́ͭ̾̃̀̔̾̕͠í͛̎́͛ͫ̓͏͕̝̱̻̟̹̙̮-̡̗̹̮̿ͭ̈̉͌͟ ̵̙̜̝̮͎͎̹̲ͣͦ͑ͩ̃̍̄͂͠c̪̺̻̙͓͚̱̘̖͋̇̀͡ȑ̴͕̩̪̤̜͎̱ͭ̓a͚̯̟̭̣̩̼̣̠͆̊̆͑̌̽̈́̒̚͝p̡̝̞̿͐͟ ̱̦ͥ̋̋̔ͥ̊͑̔Ḭ̛̖̼̼̞ͫ̔ͨ ̧̻̥͙͓̞͔̐ͬ͟͡ͅo̶̡̮̱̯̦̅̃͡w̷̠̙͚̺̜̰̳͎͑̒ͤ͞n͚̖̣̈̈̊̊ͨ͘ͅë̱̙͇̗́̔ͯ͜d̸ͤ̒̆ͬ͛̔͒̓͝͏̘͎͖ ̏̃̈́͑͂ͣ͏̡͖̫̯̜̻̯͕̮̱m̦̬̂́̐̎ͪ̌͊̒͘y̷̝̝ͨ͋̾͞ ̥̣̄̌̃̑ṯ̸͚̗̼̫̯̫̈ͫ̍̓͆̎̕e̮̻̥̟̲̺̒͌ͯ̊ͥͥ̈̏̋x̷̬̼̐̉t̬͓ͮͩ ̶͖̳͈̖͔̣́̓͊̋̔̇͛ͪ͘h̷̠̞͑ͮa̰͚̖̿ͧ͗́̚͞͡l̨̼̘͌̓̅ͭ̏̃͜p̨̩͉ͤ̍ͥ̀

anyways yeah it's not bad for the fact that you at least gain money from LRC. I think the one thing people neglect most about profiting in skilling, though, is EPing while you skill though - I do that for almost every skill. lol

looking forward to what this does for herblore as its a [bleep] to train due to needin money.

Started free trade with 1.5m cash. 2 weeks later, have hit max cash 2x.

PvP drops: 359 Brawling Gloves, 11 Vesta's Longswords, 41+ Zaros/Ancient Statues

9 Dragon Full Helms, 3 Dragonfire Shields on the old PvP loot system

Brawler guide is being finished!
